Default Recording Industry Decries AM-FM Broadcasting as 'A Form of Piracy'

On Monday, the recording industry sent the National Association of Broadcasters -- the trade group representing the $16 billion a year AM-FM broadcasting business -- a can of herring to underscore that it believes its arguments against paying royalties are a red herring. The NAB says its members should not pay royalties because AM-FM radio "promotes" the music industry.

I am not a fan of the NAB but I hope they kick the RIAA's ass. This should be good.

I kind of hope the RIAA wins. That way it might force NAB to play non-RIAA music.

Hmmm, maybe the onion isn't a parody site, but a site that KNOWS the FUTURE!!

It's just looks funny because it sounds ridiculous, until 6 years later, when it becomes reality?!

****ing A. The NAB and it's little bitches on Capital Hill have been preventing the merger of XM and Sirius for over a year by "leaning on" the FCC, so they can **** right off, too! It's been 16 months since the two companies announced their desire to merge. It took the Exxon/Mobil merger only 11 months to complete!
