yeah well wait until they can figure a way to condense this one...
People will go out of their minds. Funny, Sam Mendes would be my first choice for a director if they ever did figger out a way to bite into the massive STORY. I know none of us want these movies to happen...but the writer of BIG FISH and Sam 'American Beauty' Mendes...at least if it fails, it will be a spectacular failure.
oh c'mon! what is this?! next thing you know they'll want to do Transmetropolitan and do something stupid like cast Brad Pitt as Spider.

Funny, I heard that was in play (Transmetropolitan, not Brad Pitt...) at one point.
Here's one
That has also been discussed. All we can hope is that the comics, albeit popular, are too inside and esoteric. It's almost a good thing that WATCHMEN didn't break any records. It would have opened the floodgates on obscure and beloved properties.
One property I think could be developed nicely...
One of the best 'cape series I have ever read...totally see Simon Pegg in this. If you guys have not read it...please...seek it out immediately.
Well, this is what I think (not that anybody cares what I think. )
The Watchmen movie is like the Psycho remake.
Once Psycho got remade, any other horror remade didn't seem as blasphemous.
And now that Watchmen has been made, a movie version of any other comic does not seem as blasphemous.
Just saying.
Good point Orph...but the resounding thud that was the Psycho remake certainly made people think a little harder. If it had been megaboffoboxoffice...the floodgates would have opened wide. At least it stalled things a bit. And the simple fact that the history...development wise...of the Watchmen reads like a who's who of great directors/writers...and the end result was met with about as much love as it could have possibly recieved given the expectations...but not enough to make studio weasels grip at every FANBOY property...well, it's a win/win or lose/lose depending how you look at it.
Funny, I heard that was in play (Transmetropolitan, not Brad Pitt...) at one point.
It was. I think it's pretty much dead in the water at this point.

There's no ****ing way any Hollywood studio would condone trying to literally adapt Morrison's run on Doom Patrol. I could see them maybe doing a Doom Patrol movie, but it would have to be based on someone else's version of them, I'd guess.

You know, I have a few of the trades for Starman, but have never read it all the way through. Didn't they just recently put them back in print?
One Vertigo comic movie I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see (if done right) is We3.
The comic is done in such a cinematical style, you wouldn't need to storyboard a goddamn thing. It would be the greatest movie ever. Maybe.
