I've been wanting to see this film for a long time and I finally got to see it. What a great ****ing movie. Wasn't cliche like most other murder mystery films are. Brilliant screenplay and direction.
I'm a HUGE Kiyoshi Kurosawa fan and I LOVE Miki Nakatani, but this was a major letdown. A few really cheesy moments pretty much ruined what would have otherwise been a nice, creepy mummy movie.

I just found out that one of my all-time favorite anime feature films has been released on Blu-ray.
I saw a fan-sub of this when I was about 15. It came out dubbed here in the states on VHS with a very limited run. They made a VERY miniscule run of the dubbed/subbed version on DVD before the company that imported the title went tits up. This is really one of Hiroyuki Yamaga's finest, even though it was early in Studio Gainax's history!
I'm freakin geeked for this! Can't wait for it to show up!

I just downloaded the soundtrack to this the other day. Ryuichi Sakamoto can be pretty amazing when he wants to be.

If you look towards the beginning, there's an "Asian Invasion" column I wrote in that issue, too.
Trying to find someone else to pay me for it has not been fruitful thus far.
Must have missed the Asian Invasion article. But then again, I was struggling to remember your last name. Then I remember you were the only white guy I know who has that last name.
What about mags like Protoculture Addicts? Or NewType USA? Or something like that?
