About This Page: This is a discussion on Media, Movies and Music within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I'm no Oasis fan, but this is quite an interesting interview with him about the Smiths. And on a side note - why does the word "****" sound so much

I am not a big Oasis fan either, but I have to admit when they are on, they are on.
Noel looks like a Vulcan or a Romulian or whatever those aliens with the nerdy haicuts in Star Trek are called.
And I often wondered why **** sounds way cooler when Brits say it. Perhaps it is because they say with such ease, it just seems to roll off the tongue.

I saw tyhis video on youtube a few months back and a few things caught my attention.
I officially love the terms "****in hell" and "For ****'s sake"
I've seen Morrissey recently and he's NOT one of the best anymore. And Morrissey is probably my favorite singer of all. I own every single Smiths & Morrissey album minus the overkilled "Best of's". (My ipod consists of a total of 250 Morrissey and Smiths tracks)
He's right, Johnny Marr is a wizard.
Yes, The Smiths never wrote "****". It's all brilliant.
I agree with him, you can't pick a favorite Smiths song. It depends on your mood. It's all briliant.
and I love Oasis....Champagne Supernova. Come on people!
Oasis had become a joke already by ...Morning Glory?, and they should have kicked Liam out of the band like they wanted to.
Noel was a better singer anyway, and the Setting Sun cut he did with the Chemical Brothers was the best thing either one of them has done since Definitely Maybe.
easily THE weakest band of the Manchester contingent of the 1990's.

Well here is the most underrated band of that period:

the closest vibe i have felt in ages to any Smiths record (outside of the first Suede album, maybe) are both Kaiser Chiefs albums.
listen to Louder than Bombs and Strangeways (and perhaps Morrissey's first solo album Viva Hate), then listen to the both Kaiser albums... Stephen Street is such a fantastic producer!
