I don't see what the big deal is. I know she's 15, but I fail to see how this
So Jewish female photographers make everything more risqué?
the "well" was a maybe, but the Jewish female photographer part was the counter argument against it being dirty... Annie has an amazing reputation, and in all honesty, when she's shooting, the subject is the one who should feel honored.

She's a world renowned photographer. Look up some of her other more popular photographs (especially the ones that were deemed groundbreaking or controversial).
I don't see what the big deal is, I mean it looks like she just got ravaged in bed... Then again she's 15 years old. Maybe Billy Ray should step in and set some boundaries for her. Or is the Miley Cyrus machine out of his control???

I know all about Annie Leibovitz. I was being cheeky.
15 year olds have nudity underneath their clothes?!?!?! I thought that didn't happen until they turned 18. I'm sure this would be just fine if she was in a bikini wear you could clearly see her entire figure, but no, showing her uncovered back is the taboo thing. What is this, the 30's?

I personally didn't see anything wrong with it.
But I do understand where parents are coming from.
It's no more or less tasteless than the usual convention of using nudity and sex to sell useless magazines full of tripe and fooferah designed to lower the average self esteem of the female population.
I suppose the fact that they're exploiting a minor in order to exploit MORE minors adds a layer of revulsion... but not much.
I think the parent's are carrying on the way they are because it's "innocent" pictures like this, that tend to start *sweet* girls like Mylie down that slippery Britney/Lindsay/etc. slope (at least in this business).
there wouldn't be a controversy if Disney didn't make it seem like one.
Miley Cyrus agreed to do the picture, she's said that she LIKES the picture, her parents were there and liked the picture
but Disney went and freaked out that conservative parents who are afraid of an exposed back won't buy into Cyrus' wholesome image so their blaming the magazine in order to keep their reputation.
Honestly, in my opinion, she looks like she's growing up way too fast. I mean, what 15-year-old girl wears stilettos and skanky dresses? I barely do that.
And I think that it's Disney's fault for pushing this squeaky-clean image down her throat and she's probably sick of it and this is her way of rebelling.
--end rant--
