Metallica "Death Magnetic" Album Art

Been a long time since I've enjoyed a Metallica album, but with Rick Ruben on board as the producer...I have a bit of hope.

Old Logo is back...which is a good thing.

St. Anger sucked donkey balls. I wonder if this one will be any better?

I hope Lars tightened the skins of his snare a little. That was one of the biggest turn offs for me about St. Anger. That ringing POK POK POK POK of his snare on that album was like fingernails on a blackboard.

That was a snare drum? I could have sworn he used an empty can of chili in the snare's place for that album...

On another note, I've heard they're back up to standard E tuning. I've always hated their down-tuned sound [whether 1/2 step (Load, Reload) or whatever the hell they did on St Anger].

Must say I'm quite looking forward to this album, even if my expectations are still pretty low, if that makes sense...

Hopefully they can make it all the way back. I saw them opening for Godsmack a couple years ago, old stuff rocked, Saint Anger is really bad.

Anyone following the Mission Metallica clips that are being released? They're basically little teaser snippets from the studio. They don't reveal much, but it does seem like they're headed back in the right direction with Rick Rubin producing....
