About This Page: This is a discussion on Media, Movies and Music within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Cannot wait to see this movie. Mike Myers delivers. The commercials for the movie are hysterical.
wow...talk about lowered standards...Love Guru and ...Zohan could not look less funny. The previews for both are d-e-a-t-h. At this point a sequel to Night At The Roxbury seems like a better idea. And Guru despite it's good hockey intentions could not be a bigger misfire. Not to come off the wrong way here, I am going to be as delicate as possible, but was the concession to make the player that he is trying to fix black yes i said it, and not Jarome Iginla but Chris Rock(and I mean attitude, not shade) black a blatant attempt to involve the urban audience???? Look, even Tiger Woods doesn't dig the NHL. I dunno, it just looks really busted. Mike Myers seems to have lost his talent during his long layoff.

The actor playing the hockey player is a really funny guy... I really don't think it has anything to do with trying to rope in an urban audience. I suppose you think having a small person as coach is realistic? And is trying to rope in the small people audience? Its just a movie man, who cares if he's black.

Take it from, Doc. There is no one else on this board that can tell you the right way and the wrong way to deal with race on the screen than him.
There was something about Crash he didn't like, too, but I don't seem to recall what it was.
Ironic that he is telling me not to be naive. It was his naivety that led to him believing that Crash wasn't an accurate, gritty portrayal of the streets of Los Angeles. Doc, I don't know what white bread part of LA you live in, but down here on the streets, everything is exactly like it was depicted in Crash. Who needs subtlety when you can be massively over the top racist to make sure even your dumbest friends get the message?
