About This Page: This is a discussion on Media, Movies and Music within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. For those of us not fortunate to have lots of extra money, time, or the fortuitousness to be a Chicago resident, there will be a webcast of this weekend's festival.

Major acts such as Radiohead and RATM are sadly not going to be webcasted, but I'm sure there are still many acts for all to see. Bloc Party, for instance, will be webcasted tomorrow (just saw them at the Mayan Theatre this week and they were insanely good).

One thing I love about these webcasts is the shots of people on some clearly pretty awesome drugs.
Yeasayerrrrrrr.
they were allright.
speaking of drugs... i was at the pinback show last night and some dude who must've been on pot and E came up and kept bumping up against my husband and grinning goofily. we inched away from him and he moved onto a trio of girls who were dancing. he tried to hump one of thems' legs, she looked annoyed and kept moving her friends in between him and her. he ended up being the hip thrusting caboose to their dancing train. i don't really get the dancing, but that's irrelevant... that guy was just really amusing to watch. lolz.
the kills... you can only do so much with guitar rock! meh.

gogol bordello... too frenetic.
taking a break until bloc party comes on.
Yeasayer I saw at Download Festival and were awesome. They had already been growing on me. I just love that type of music (and a lot of it is coming out of Brooklyn. See: MGMT). Plus, their bass player is incredible (fretless electric!) and their frontman is great to watch.
Agree on the Kills. I was watching them thinking "I feel they need more people in their band." Too many unused frequencies. Just...empty music.
I tried watching Gogol Bordello's Bonaroo set and I felt like it was turning me into a crazy person....felt like it never ended. Basically, the antithesis of the Kills. Let's try and find some musical middle ground here, people.
Soon, over 100,000 people will crowd into Chicago's Grant Park to see over 100 bands ranging from alternative to avant-garde, from country to hip-hop, and everything in between.
But if you can't make it to Lollapalooza, don't worry - XMX has you covered.

i really like kele's voice. i like that they played "banquet", that's the 1st bloc party song i ever heard. they're sounding solid.
hmmm... kinda bummed i don't get to see black keys, but oh well, i'll see them live next month.
double hmmm... mark ronson, eh? (rinkrat, it's mark, not mick). would've been interesting to see what his set would've been like... he's sort of the mastermind behind amy winehouse's "back in black". i like his dj work.
Bassist for bloc party was a fill in, btw. Gordon Moakes having a baby (I was confused when I saw them this week and Kele explained he was at home "playing pop." I thought he meant pop as in "pop music," not, you know, "father.")
