About This Page: This is a discussion on Media, Movies and Music within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I was considering picking it up on Blu-Ray since I've only heard good things about it. I was just wondering if anyone here had seen it.
Excellent movie with an absolutely great performance from the amazing Ken Watanabe. I saw it at the theater and loved it and now have it on HD DVD. It's an extremely harsh movie with a washed out, worn look to it. I liked Flags of Our Fathers too, but Letters is the better part of Eastwood's ode to WWII.

It's a great film. Eastwood did a good job letting the story be the main focus and not letting ANY special effects and camera/editing gimmicks get in the way. It's always nice to get WWII from a different perspective.
IMHO Flags of Our Fathers sucked compared to LFIJ.

agree. letters>>>flags.
i liked this a lot and i'm not a huge war film person. i echo the sentiments that it was nice to see the war from a different perspective. i bet the end scenes with the grenades look sick in HD/blu ray.
