. . . and the ****in rocked! I wasn't a huge fan back in the day (I mostly liked UK bands) but I knew enough of their stuff to really enjoy the show. Wifey dragged me there after the Derby Dolls championship bout and it was pretty cool. She really loved it and relived her youth after seeing Naked Raygun several times when she was younger, in fact, looking around the crowd I noticed that I wasn't a lot older than the rest of the patrons for a change . I even saw some old friends and we hung around with the band after the show. I snapped a few pics since I had the camera with me, so I'll throw a couple up here. Wifey even brought her album and got it signed.. a true fan!
The Swingin Utters opened and they were pretty fun in an old-school oi-ripoff kinda way.
Yep it was! I was surprised that they let cameras in. Are there any other clubs that allow cameras? I might have to go to a few shows because I like taking band photos.
Yeah they played Treason, Rat Patrol, Coldbringer and they were really fun with all the singalong choruses. I never paid a lot of attention to them back in the day but the wife knew every song and went nuts. I was surprised at how much they were like Big Black (or rather the other way around). I guess the Chicago thing rubs off on other bands.
Jeff Pezzati played bass for Big Black back in the day. I think he also played with them a few years ago at a Touch and Go party since Dave Riley is pretty much a cripple. If they ever toured, I would give my left nut to see them.
Most of the small places will let you bring in cameras. I remember sneaking in disposables down my drawers back in the day at places like HOB Hollywood and the Palace. I wish I still had the pictures as I lost them in a move.
