About This Page: This is a discussion on Media, Movies and Music within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I mean I really really really like House. Not just because I'm in love with Lisa Edelstein either.
I just really like House.
Such as? And if you say Heroes I'm going to ePunch you in your eNose.
ePunch me then, I'll take off my helmet in advance.
Is this where you tell me that Heroes actually is a documentary about the laws of space-time?
Or is this where I freely admit that I'm a bit harder on medical dramas, you admit that you're a bit harder on the sci fi/comic genre, and we hug it out?

My beef with HEROES isn't that it's not realistic. My beef with HEROES is that the characters are stale, the stories ripped off, the writing beyond horrible and... well I think you see where I'm going with this.
If the only beef you have with House is that it doesn't accurately represent the medical profession then I think you're missing the point of "fiction".

And this is different how, exactly, from disliking a medical show because the medicine isn't realistic?

I do, because I quite agree.

That's a pretty big "if," don't you think? I mean, you told me to **** off based on a comment which was actually just a silly reference to your screen name. (I had hoped the strategically-placed winky emoticon in my original post might convey that.)
But at least now you're saying "if."
I gave House, the show, a shot. I watched quite a bit of (I think it was) season two, and after failing to get into it I still took in an occasional episode out of curiosity. As you probably know from the Battlestar Galactica threads, I quite enjoy a good character-driven drama. And, as I said, I really tried hard to like the show because I think the character House is great. But I just didn't ever feel terribly compelled by those around him, and the plots (not just the medical ones) felt pretty forced to me. The latter complaint probably has something to do with the fact that the medical plots in House are seriously whacked, but that's not "my only beef." Iffy on-screen medicine has turned me off from some shows before (Fringe comes to mind, and even then it was really the faulty logic of the applied medicine that irked me), but I was a die-hard ER fan until I got bored, and I loved Scrubs (the only current sitcom I actually watched multiple episodes of in recent years).
So, I don't like House (the show). Is that okay with you now?

I used too many negatives in that sentence. Let me rephrase.
I don't care that HEROES isn't realistic. I care that it sucks balls. (yet I still can't stop watching it. It's maddening.)

Aww pookins don't take me too seriously. That "**** off" was playful and directed at the medical industry as a whole. Not just you. Sorry I forgot the smiley.
