I enjoyed Scrubs for about 3 or 4 seasons. But it was all the same.
The thing I enjoy about House, again, isn't the medicine. He is, as has been said, a GREAT character. How he manipulates people and even himself sometimes is fascinating. There's such a complete process behind his thoughts that is entirely consistent and completely unlike anything else on TV. And it's that depth and originality in THAT aspect of the show that makes it must watch for me.
When it comes to the medicine, though, I likened House to a friend to Sherlock Holmes stories - the problem is presented, there's always a throw away detail that's the key (or a throw way character) when the problem is presented, then you follow the process to the reveal, when Sherlock inevitably tells you something to the effect that "While YOU were out in Derbyshire with the widow, I was in town dressed as a clergyman! And while I was there, I discovered..." at which point he reveals something unknown to anyone which makes it seem like some sort of brilliant bit of detective work.
But if you knew before the reveal that he was a clergyman and what he discovered (or if you really know your medicine), the ending isn't as brilliant or shocking and actually kinda sucks.
Lucky for me I don't know my medicine.
