Gotta go with the Misfits & Motorhead on this one.

Although Misfits were punk, not metal.

yeah the misfits were a reach..but Motorhead...!!!!! substitute the DANZIG skull for the misfits...and all is well

That's funny, the first 2 to come to my mind are Eddie (Iron Maiden) and Vic (Megadeth) and those are the first 2 on the list.

They need to add the Not Guy from Anthrax.

Eddie is the undisputed king of all metal mascots

The Overkill skull with wings is one that hasn't been mentioned yet but deserves consideration:

Heh, I wish the vocals in Overkill were as good as the skull artwork.

I cannot stand Bobby's horrendous voice. It keeps me from enjoying the rest of the band.

Being originally from NJ people think I'd automatically like Overkill but like you, those vocals just kill it for me.

Eddie is #1 by far...even the cover of the new Billboard(coming out this month)

I also like Allister Fiend of the early Mötley Crüe days...
