And is there tape of the Jews for Jesus official who spoke at her church about three weeks ago while she was in attendence and said Jews were being killed by terrorists for their failure to convert to Christianity? Is there any tape of her responding to this?

Why is this stooping? Palin's on tape telling people the war is God's will, pray for funds to build her pipeline, her church has members radical enough to speak in tongues, etc. She's making a target of herself and if American's are stupid enough to ingnore the facts, you'll get more bad Bush-like policies. She's a radical jesus-freak and fires people because they don't do her (and God's supposedly) will and I still believe in the separation of church and state.
By your logic, the Republican way is to ignore the facts and vote the party no matter how stupid it makes America look. So you keep ignoring the facts.
Great article. I'm a bit disappointed in McCain's recent ass-kissing of the Rep far-right. I guess these days you have to do what you got to do to get elected. However, it makes it exceedingly difficult to convince yourself he really is just kissing butt and will do things differently once in office.
Then there's the actual real chance McCain doesn't make it through his term and you get this demagogue as President. I guess the more we fight fundementalists the more we become like them. You know...kinda how McCain's policies have gone the last 6/5 years or so.

Philosopher John Rawls devotes a section of his influential and controversial book A Theory of Justice to the problem of whether a just society should or should not tolerate the intolerant, and to the related problem of whether or not, in any society, the intolerant have any right to complain when they are not tolerated.
Rawls concludes that a just society must be tolerant; therefore, the intolerant must be tolerated, for otherwise, the society would then be intolerant, and so unjust. However, Rawls qualifies this by insisting that society and its social institutions have a reasonable right of self-preservation that supersedes the principle of tolerance. Hence, the intolerant must be tolerated but only insofar as they do not endanger the tolerant society and its institutions.

Tolerance with respect to someone's religious preference isn't the issue. The comparison being made here has more to do with someone like Palin pushing her religious views into the political scene and basing her policies on that same fanaticism. For god's sake, she's firing people because they won't do something that she believes is right? Didn't we get over book censorship in the 1950's? It's up to me to decide what I read and don't read, not Sarah Palin. If she's going to use a public office to further her own religious agenda, then she's not fit for that office.
I don't have a problem with her religious beliefs on a personal level. I DO however, have a problem with her in office and pushing policys that affect my life.
When will people learn. When you vote for a man, or a woman to hold office in America, YOU AREN'T VOTING FOR JESUS TO DO THE JOB!!! I for one am tired of Republicans and their wedge issue campaigns, and the fools who fall for them.

Here's the thing. I hate Palin's guts not because she and McCain will likely win, I hate them because she's ignorant and evil.

I am a believer in the absolute priority of civil liberties over all other considerations. If the American left and a few libertarian rightists didn't protect civil liberties in this country, we wouldn't have them anymore. Certainly the core of the American right has no regard for them and never has.
I think you're confusing disagreement and criticism with intolerance and bigotry.

Because I think McCain is more capable then Obama to lead this country... Bill Clinton said it best. "You have Candidate X and you have Candidate Y..." I have made my choice. We can go on and on down the list but I highly doubt we are going to change each others mind and it really doesn't matter because Obama will win CA anyway so there is no need to worry about my silly vote.
