About This Page: This is a discussion on Politics within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Does Palin have any chance of coming out of this debate in a month looking like Biden didn't just kick her in the pooter?

And no offense to any service men or vets, but how much can they play up the POW thing. They should stick to the issues. There's not an American around who hasn't heard McCain's story at least twice. We know he's a hero. We know he's brave, but everytime an issue is raised he plays that card. That's not going to go very far. It's already starting to be noticed.

I did find it absolutely hilarious that in 2008, The Republicans are offering up the only guy who has actually "fought" for the American people. Was Kerry their man in 2004?
Let me guess the outcome of this thread... The Repubs will say yes and the Dems will say no. After the debate nothing will change...
As a Registered Republican...I bet you think my vote would be Yes?
When it would actually be No. Joe Biden is far too knowledgeable and too dynamic a speaker for most seasoned opponents to handle...her only chance is to cry during the debate and hope for the sympathy vote. He's gonna tear her AND McCain apart in this debate.

I'm gonna agree with you. When it's not a controlled speech in front of your own convention, it'll be a different story. She may have trouble controlling her temper. That's exactly what they wait for from a female.
I notice there's a few more minorities there tonite also. Everything with these people is a knee-jerk reaction to public opinion.

Like this comment wouldn't have been made if they were there the other night? C'mon. In 2004 that was what was said when they had several groups there. "Look at that!! So obvious that they're trying to show they're diverse." It's a no win situation.
As far as the debate. No prayer. I expect most of her comments to mention McCain was a POW and that she's a hockey mom. Maybe she benefits from the incredibly low expectations.

It's just a comment. Why all the over-reaction? It was mentioned last night, I just followed up.
Not an over-reaction. It's the truth. I've heard that today at least four times from four different people. It's a silly point to bring up.
To belabor the point, no it isn't silly to bring it up. The Republicans do this all the time. They will do whatever they have to to get elected, including portraying themselves as the party of "inclusion", which I happen to feel is rubbish.

I think it's important to focus on the fact that he's a man of principle and honor. The purpose is to highlight the differences between him and his opponent.
