I'm sure it's just the liberal bias of the Register:

Sheriff Mike Carona, his wife and a woman identified as his "longtime mistress" have been indicted on charges of public corruption by a federal grand jury, The Orange County Register has learned.

On a serious note, the guy sounds like he's ****ed, and I think that's just awesome! There have been rumblings about him for a long time, and his interventions in the Haidl rape case made me want to puke.

I certainly wouldnt call it "intervention". That makes it sound good. I know some OC Deputies and there was a serious attempt to let that little F*** go. He has also done a bunch of sh** since then that got covered up by supervisors. The funny thing is, Haidle old man isnt even a sworn officer. He just has dough and paid his way into the dept....Haidle is a pile of sh**...

Carona has never been a cop. He has been an admin clown his whole career, most of which he was a marshal. He just took a different route to becoming a corrupt politician than most. In the end, I won't be sorry to see him go. Hopefully the next sheriff will be a real lawman.

If you haven't read or heard about that rape case, it was pretty bad. I remember reading about it and almost feeling sick to my stomach, and then reading about Carona being on the side of the little piece of **** only pissed me off more. I know the guy isn't a real cop, but at least pretend you are on the side of victim and not the criminal. But then, he was a criminal too.

Thank you for the answer....I knew of the case and was familiar with it. I just wanted to know what the exact interventions were. Yup, there weren't very smart ones. Like anyone, he should pay for his wrong-doings. I also believe Corona was a total administrator. He was the head of the Orange County Marshals at the age of 33. He needed way more experience to run an agency.

Sheriff Chrome Dome is only because "popular" after than kidnapping incident a few years back. We got to see him every night on CNN for a while. Luckily for him it was a little white girl who was taken otherwise he still be in obscurity.
