Hell, I thought we didn't negotiate with enemies and terrorists. What happened with that "policy"?

One positive from the Iraq War is that Libya gave up it's nuclear (pronounced "nu-clear" since I'm not a Republican) program and has gained from that action.

Gaddafi was softening his tone in 99 when he handed over the Pan Am bombers, pledged to help fight AL Qaeda and agreed to open up to weapons inspections(Clinton never accepted). September the 11th sealed the deal, he knew what was comming after that. Gaddafi is also avery popular leader in Africa, something Saddam never enjoyed in the middle-east.

No need for a list. It is O.K. to meet with the "enemy" when Gaddafi calls for all oil revenue produced in Libya to go directly to the Libyan people.

I'll go ya one better. It's ok to meet with the enemy as long as you are a Republican. But if you're a Democrat and talk about using 'diplomacy', like with Iran for instance, then you just have a pre-9/11 mentality and don't live in the real world.

Much as I think Hugo Chavez is nutty, he's played his cards right when it comes to the US. And now Qaddafi is trying to do the same thing. Bush's polcies have weakened us globally and now they have us by the balls thanks to an over-the-top oil addiction and no clear alternatives in sight.
