About This Page: This is a discussion on Politics within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. on FOX News. Should be interesting.
I'm sure he is, and he will steal his thunder if he gives candid answers to the questions posed.
\"That's above my pay grade.\", isn't going to cut it with O'Reilly.
This will be far more interesting than any of the speeches given at either of the two conventions.
I think Palin needs to give O'Reilly an interview very soon.
I want to agree with you here, actually, but it seems as though O'Reilly soft-pedals the heavies. His interviews with both Bush and Hillary come to mind. I think--as a media personality first and foremost--he knows what side his bread needs to be buttered. He won't risk alienating the possible future POTUS.

Most likely. He might throw one question out there and it will probably be something along the lines of, "But you can see how people might have problems with your associations with Jeremiah Wright, can't you?"

People that are looking for him to rip someone's throat out during one of these interviews will be very disappointed.
I don't think he was soft on Hillary at all. He will interupt the interview subject if he feels that he is getting a "stump speech" answer and try another approach. However, if the person still refuses to answer the question he will move on to the next one due to the limited time he has with the person he is interviewing.
It's interesting listening to his commentary on the radio following one of these interviews, because he will say things like, "I asked Bush this, in two different ways, and he just didn't want to answer the question."
In all honesty, the bar hasn't been set very high by any of these speeches during the conventions. Just a lot of red meat for the delegates and true believers on both sides.

To make it fair, she needs to be interviewed by someone more left-leaning.
Also, I would love to see John Stewart moderate a debate between all of them.
Sorry, I can think of a lot of people that lean to the left that I would rather see before I went with John Stewart.
I don't think he can be taken very seriously as a true political commentator. Bill Mahrer would be better than Stuart, and that might not be saying much.

It was on at 5pm, supposed to be replayed at 2am, but the conventions have been messing the schedules up, so, who knows if it will come on.
They discussed National Security today, Obama admitted that the surge has been a huge success. O'Reilly commended him on being one of the few with the foresight to vote no on the war from the beginning.
FNC will run parts 2, 3, and 4 on M, T, and W of next week at 5pm, with some reruns later in the night. The Tuesday segment is supposed to be the heated one where O'Reilly brings up Rev. Wright and BO's other questionable associations.
For those who don't know, the reason BO came on The Factor was because, during the primaries, BO was trying to avoid one of O'Reilly's reporters and in order to get away, he said, if I win the primary, I'll come on the show. After he won the primary, he continuously refused to come on. fast forward to last week's DNC, during Michelle's speech, she said something to the effect of "Barack and I were raised to always keep our word." O'reilly then ran the two clips together, and within a week, Obama was on the show. I don't think he would have ever came on if it wasn't for this.
O'Reilly actually had a couple of nice things to say about Barrack; such as "He is a tough guy, I looked into his eyes and he is not a wimpy guy."
I don't watch or listen to Bill very often but I was surprised when he said that he thought that the war in Iraq is the wrong battlefield and that it has been a historical mistake.
Barrack said that the surge was successful in reducing violence but that it did not help us towards our goal of Irag being a self sufficient democracy (paraphrased). They mentioned that the goals of the surge changed after the surge was complete.
I set my DVR to record the next 3 parts of the interview. They should be interesting.

He has been saying this for at least two years now. Don't buy into all the negatives you here about O'Reilly. Yes, he is a conservative and he is very critical of the far left, but he hits the far right as well.
He has been critical of the Bush administration on a number of issues including Iraq.
I think he tries to give a fair shake to both sides of an argument, but he is coming at it from a "traditionalist" point of view.

Thanks for that description. I really have only heard him on the radio a couple of times and he pissed me off then. Based on what I saw last night and upon your comments above, I will give him a little more attention.

Absolutely, I never understood why so many people hate him. Maybe it is because he tells truths and doesn't let anyone get away with anything. Just today, I was listening to his radio show to see if he said anything about the interview, and a ton of conservatives were calling in all pissed off because he ran the BO interview during the final night of the RNC. If you listen to him regularly, you'll find that he is accused of being left wing as much as he is accused of being a right wing. You just don't hear the left wing accusations in the mainstream media, I wonder why?
