Surely the info in this video has to be incorrect, right? I just cant fathom any human being would be ok with this practice but I cant seem to find credible (not you tube) information on it so please enlighten me. Thanks guys and gals...
EDIT: I have found some more info on it and it seems like this video is misrepresenting why Obama was opposed to the bill in the first place. Imagine that, a video on You Tube that is completely bias one way or the other... Shocking!
Here is a transcript of Obama on this issue... Jill Stanek - Obama caught on tape arguing against giving medical attention to aborted babies
If you read the whole thing and not just the highlighted portion it seems clear to me that he isnt in favor of letting the babies die. Im glad thats the case, apparently he didn't like the law because it was undermining R vs W in some way.

Did you watch the video? If so, do you really agree that its ok to let babies that have survived the "abortion" process just sit there and die? When do you think life starts? I can understand those who feel life starts at birth and their decision to support a womens right to choose but when does the baby get human rights? I figured once they are out of the mother they might receive those rights, no?
I agree with your statement, as after it is born it should live.
My statement was before it was born, the mother has her choice to have or not have.
Then maybe you should read and listen to the OP and its video before responding with some lame ass response like you did. Attacking Palin again and again wont help me understand why Obama was for killing babies that had survived the abortion process.
I still cant believe that he feels that way and understand the video in the OP was made by a conservative group so Im just trying to see if any of you Obama supporters have any info that speaks to the contrary.

I can't watch videos at work but do have anything besides a video that was on youtube to support your claim that Obama supports "killing babies"? Preferable in article form from a reputable source. I'd be really interested in reading that...no sarcasm intended.

Thanks but that article comes from a news source that claims to be "Leading the Conservitave Movement", I was looking for a less biased source. I appreciate you looking into it for me.

Reason: I meant to type less biased

I can't watch the video at work. My question is what else was in the bill? Seems like there's always some strings attached to these things. What happens to the baby should it live? Were there any provisions made for the child should it survive, is it up to the mother to raise?
If he did indeed say "let them die", no I don't agree with that. That wasn't stated in the article. I just think there's more to the story than is being told. This thing has been fought out in the political arena for over 40 years, mostly for the purpose of energizing the Republican base. If Obama is trying to keep it out of the politcal arena, then he's got my support. It doesn't belong there anymore.
I didn't watch the video but here are Obamas stances.
Quote:
On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that.
Part of the reason they didn't have it was purposeful, because those who are opposed to abortion have a moral calling to try to oppose what they think is immoral. Oftentimes what they were trying to do was to polarize the debate and make it more difficult for people, so that they could try to bring an end to abortions overall.
As president, my goal is to bring people together, to listen to them, and I don't think that's any Republican out there who I've worked with who would say that I don't listen to them, I don't respect their ideas, I don't understand their perspective. And my goal is to get us out of this polarizing debate where we're always trying to score cheap political points and actually get things done.

The more stuff Im finding on it you seemed to have hit the nail on the head. Apparently there was something in the bill that he said went against R vs W and thats why he was opposed to it. Like I said earlier, Im glad thats the case regardless of my stance of abortion because I couldn't think of any human being being against such a law although 16 people in the House did vote against it when it got to the Federal level... How incredibly sad.
