There is definitely a great deal of manipulation going on. I would love to see the U.S. dump about half of it's strategic reserve on the open market while at the same time announcing plans to drill off the coast of Florida and California just to see the speculators get burned big time.
I love how when Obama announces he is considering doing exactly what Kings17 wants him to, he's called a liar instead of a centrist compromiser.

Yea, I was being vindictive with regards to the speculators. I never said it was an actual solution to the problem, however I did say that drilling off the coasts of California and Florida would help. Obama doesn't think it would help and yet he is willing to do it for political gain. Doesn't this guy have the courage of his own convictions?
Keep trying OMR, because it's only going to get worse for Obama as he actually has to take a position on some of these issues. The "Hope and Change" schtick has just about run its course.
Of course, he has tried to change his schtick recently by playing the race card.

Ask yourself the same question. Seriously, you're getting angry over the fact that Obama agrees with you. Now you're trying to change your own stance to being vindictive.

I can't help but think that you're angry over the fact that Obama doesn't fit into this character that right-wingers have been trying to make him into. "Isn't he the most liberal senator in the US?" When facts fly in the face of that ridiculous assertion, right wingers write it off as political opportunism (while disregarding the own opportunism of McCain and Barr) instead of seeing Obama as what he is, a negotiator.

But when all else fails, change the subject.
I'm not angry that he agrees with me. Actually, it's quite Clintonesque of him. He looks like another politician that lacks any personal conviction and will pretty much go whichever way the wind blows.
...and his plan to take windfall profit taxes from the oil companies and use that to fund $1000 checks to American citizens? It doesn't get any more ridiculous than that.
What facts am I missing? He has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate. This is who he is, rather than the person he says he is now. Of course, like most politicians his only job is to get elected and of course he will stand up and flat out lie on the campaign trail to make that happen.
Ask yourself, does Obama believe that drilling offshore is part of the solution? Does he really believe in the FISA bill he voted for?
If Obama gets elected I am perfectly happy to see him transform from being a lefty to being right of center. Is he being genuine when he does it? NO.
Obama is a master of changing the subject. When things aren't going his way it's "By the way, did they say he was black?" Dude, I don't care if you're purple. Your basic philosophy for running the country is completely flawed.

Obama told me he loved me and he'd call me the next day.
It never happened.

Sorry, not going to provide you with a link to an Obama speech that was all over the TV news shows for several days.
Look it up yourself.
If you're talking about his "dollar bill" comments that most of the news has been tying to the wrong advertisement all week, then you haven't done your own homework.
This is the ad the "dollar bill" comments reference, not the Paris/Britney ones.

First off, they aren't speeches. They're responses to audience questions at campaign stops, and useless when taken out of context for political purposes.

Utter nonsense as usual.
Words don't matter?
...and the particular SPEECH I am talking about was one where he said something along the lines of...
"He has a funny name, and by the way did I tell you he is black?"
Look, Obama is playing the race card the same way he did in the primaries. Some people are too dense to see it.
