Can you spell HUBRIS. Poor Spitzer had his path to the White House all picked out. He couldn't act like a grown-up under the current rules. He thought he was bulletproof and immortal. Although I agree with Hipcheck on the decriminalization of prostitution and other crimes that 'outrage public morality' this is, at present, one of the best ways to weed idiots out of the power grabbing business.
Too bad bombers of babies don't outrage public morality as much.

I also agree with Hip, and all who agreed with him regarding legalizing prostitution. That being said, being someone who absolutely despises hypocrisy, I don't feel any sympathy for Spitzer, due to the single fact of him having gone out after prostitution rings as an AG.

Quick update for those keeping score at home. If a man is a politician and cheating on his wife with another woman, he is a Democrat. If he is cheating on his wife with another man, he is a Republican.
I bet all the closeted gay Republicans will be the ones convening the hearings to have him impeached
and calling him a hypocrite.

I think more than just republicans care about this. Evidently he really liked to throw his weight around and made enemies of democrats as well.
Of course it does not help that he liked to portray himself as a white knight and a paragon of virtue and as stated by Goallum, he as New York's Attorny General he aggressivly went after and broke up prostitution rings.
And as we all know the American public will put up with a lot but it cannot stand flagrant hypocrisy.................well, usually.
