Donate today, November 5th!!! Ron Paul supporters are trying to break the record for most internet donations in a day.
Quote:
What an incredible day to be a supporter of Ron Paul!
You have raised over $2 million so far today, putting us closer to our $12 million fourth quarter goal. This is more than any Republican has ever raised online in one day!
So far in the 2008 election cycle, the biggest day belongs to Mitt Romney. On January 8th, he raised just over $3.1 million. Will you help us beat Mitt Romney and raise more in one day than anyone has this year?
Please ensure Ron Paul's place in the record books with your most generous donation: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate. Tell your friends to donate today, too!

I like a lot of the things Mr. Paul has to say. He'll never get the nomination though. He says what he really thinks and unfortunately that's not the way to get elected in the United States these days.
Fundraising, fundraising, fundraising. The old dollar is about the only thing that matters.
I guess I was wrong about the fundraising part. Good for him.
Mr. Irreverent....Maybe you can tell me. Does Paul, or has Paul aligned himself with the religous right? Please say he has NOT!!
I get so turned off by any canidate that claims to be the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ once he starts running for office. I don't get it.
He has NOT. He's not your typical Republican candidate, meaning he actually makes sense and believes in a small government.
His website (posted above) is really easy to manuever through and he has tons of support on myspace and facebook, etc. if you are looking for more info.
I do like some of what this guy says and it does make sense. However, as an educator I do have some worries about a person who supports the NCLB act and supports home schooled over the public education system. The school's are my family's livelihood (both my wife and I are teachers) and this would bring a drastic blow to our life
In addition NCLB is a failed act that an incompetent person pushed through without the appropriate research and Ron Paul is supporting it along with home schoolers rights

There will always be a need for teachers. Not many parents, especially low income families can afford to home school thier kids. Besides, home schooled students still need to meet certain state standards and requirements.

Holy Crap!! I friggin love this guy!! He was 100% correct about the war in Iraq and looking at 9/11 through the eyes of our enemies. He must have watched 'The Fog of War'.
The thing that concerns me about Paul is that he will never get a fair shot with the main stream media. Those Fox News guys asking the questions were dumbfounded by Paul's rational answers to their questions. It's the media and the majority of the public that is out of step with reality IMO, not Ron Paul.
Giuliani is a joke of a canidate. But then again if 'W' can get elected to two terms, I guess anyone can become president.

I know two people that disagree with you.

The only reason I am sketchy about Gore is his belief in Manbearpig
No..now for real, yes I am aware that there will always be a public education system for those who are unable to home school their children. yesm there will always be academic standards that should be the same as school, though not always are, and understand Mr. Paul's opinion on that. Like I said earlier, I am very anti-NCLB in its current form, and the one that Nancy Pelosi is supporting. They expect all students to go to college when that is not always the best choice for them. In addition, they want to take money away from public education, when the public schools system already gets vwery little compared to military spending, homeland security and other services. (Yes they are important but the political draft of those areas...gimme a break $250 for a hammer)
If Ron Paul can make it to the big show hes got my support 110%. His Domestic Policy is wonderful.
As for home school-if a parent wants to teach their child from home and has the means to do it there should be no reason the govt should get involved at all. I read somewhere were 1/2 of the LA Budget goes to education. Its hard to talk about being underfunded when 1/2 the budget is being spent on education.

Am I missing something here?
"Paul has asserted that he does not think there should be any federal control over education and education should be handled at a local and state level. He opposes the federal No Child Left Behind Act, voting against it in 2001 and remaining opposed to it as an ineffective federal program
Paul has also proposed tax credits of $5,000 per year for each family, which could be used for any school-related expenses, whether the children of the family attend public or private school or are home-schooled"
And as far as the home-schooled thing, any tax credit for education is a bonus.
