I would say legitimate gripe with overreaction. I mean, do other candidates family members NOT work on the campaign? If so, are all of them being "Pimped out?" And really, talk about an utter lack of professionalism. Not that I think our media is a particularly professional or usefull industry right now but you would think a person could come up with a less banal phrase for taking advantage of ones daughter. (Though again... I don't think having ones family members work on your campaign is taking advantage. If they have the time and capability.. why not help mom or dad become the prez?)
I say overreaction because to remove oneself from future debates seems rash and a bit over the top. I would attend the debates and then verbally skewer the moran that said that crap about my family if I could.
However... an organization that claims to be satisfying the mandate for professional journalism really shouldn't be using slang like "pimping out" when talking about the strategy of Presidential candidates. There are plenty of ways to criticize the Clinton family without resorting to that kind of thing.
I don't think the outrage is fake. I think the gripe isn't legitimate though. They are taking the phrase "pimped out" way too seriously and it's probably because she is not familiar with modern vernacular. If the MSNBC guy meant "pimped out" in the traditional sense that would mean that there would be one hungry pimp out on the streets. After all, how much could one possibly ask for this....

The comment was stupid, but one that is hardly worthy of the outrage. I agree with Maddogg that nearly every candidate undoubtedly has family working on their campaigns, but a comment like that is hardly worthy of panty-bunching, no matter which candidate it's aimed at. If Hilary is really this thin-skinned, she really is not the candidate or person that I expected. This is about as far as you can get from the ****-throwing the real election will be.
She looking for a way to ditch the debate without losing face?
Fake outrage but David Shuster walked right into it.
This doesn't show Clinton is thin skinned. She's using this comment to whip MSNBC into line. They've been trying to look even handed about Clinton and Obama, but it's reasonably clear that their on-air people like Obama more and think he's a better story to cover as well.
If you can get people apologizing to you then you usually get a few weeks of them walking on eggshells and going out of their way to be 'extra fair', i.e. you silence them. Clinton's a good politician and her campaign won't miss a trick. They've been watching Rove/Bush operatives intimidate and manipulate the press in just this way for the last several years and they will seize every chance to do it as well.

Get real KINGS17.
Yeah, I liked the way Bill Clinton tricked the Republicans into enacting the whole Republican domestic agenda so that he could sign it into law while he was president. Bill Clinton is a moderate Republican you knucklehead and the Democratic Leadership Council exists to keep the Democratic Party from doing anythin progressive.
I loved they way Clinton played the dirty tricks of the Starr investigation and the impeachment investigation ON HIMSELF. Oh wait! That was Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay and the Republican SS that was running the Congress!
The Republican conservatives were pissed Clinton won an election with a plurality because they think they're entitled to 'win' or steal every election for every office in the US. Even though he did exactly what they would have done with the economy, sucked up to the corporate rich, and ran away from labor, the Republicans decided to harass him with personal lawsuits and investigations that had nothing to do with his Republicanesque policies. They did it because they live in a rage filled fantasy world of their own imagining that has them playing the role of victim in relation to a nation and democracy they contradictorily claim to worship, and whose government they have controlled for most of the last forty years!!
The only thing Republicans ever learned about from Clinton was the tactic of 'triangulation'...hence, the McCain nomination that is on the way right now. As far as opportunism and dirty tricks, the Republicans wrote the book under Nixon and revised it under Rove/Bush. But the Clinton's will be more than happy to check the book out from the Republican National Committee library and use it against their enemies and opponents in the coming election.

Leonidas-the political machine is brutal and dirty and has been for ages. Acting like this crap started with the Bush administration is truly ignorant. Both sides pull the same crap and getting ignorant fools to simply choose one side is the end game. When enough people wake up to the fact that both sides feed from the same trough and theyre both evil can we finally get some real change.
But as long as they can get people to split support for both parties and suppress 3rd parties they each retain enough power to satisfy all sides of the political elite. Youre a smart guy so it surprises me that youve fallen for the same routine that fools 99% of every other american dope..
