You can be sure though that Democrats will blame this sort of stuff on his losing. Not remembering that people who believe this nonsense weren't voting for him in the first place. . .
Not all undecided rural voters weren't voting for him in the first place; some just have poor access to information. And a lot of these undecided rural voters hurt him in the primaries in states he needs to win.

Of course it does. So what's your solution? Simply not treating a dying/seriously injured person?

I don't think belief in natural selection (positive analysis: what is happening) in the wild has anything to do with wanting more people to die in accidents (normative analysis: what should happen). But I do love crappy analogies!

My point-the safer it is to go through life dumb as a post and not suffer any consequences for it, means thats it without question we as a society and a planet will simply turn out more fools.
In the dark ages-only those with strong immune systems and the intelligence to survive were the ones procreating. Can we all agree the pendulum is now going in the other direction?

It was always an issue--just not at the forefront of most voters' concerns. Bigger fish to fry, you know?
And I think the year you were looking for is 2000.

What I did is done all the time and is often used to make a point.
What your circle jerk buddy did was lame, and had no point. I know it's difficult for you to tell the difference, but hang around you may actually learn something.
I see TBrown33 is trying on Semper Fi's old cheerleading skirt, how's it fit?

Evidence is abundant right here.

Ok, so if the problem is poor access to information. . .I'd venture that the only access they get is what they see on TV. So, that disqualifies the loony toon emails about all that stuff and gives them plenty of highlights of Obama and crew disavowing any of that nonsense, right? I'm sorry, but I tend to believe that anyone who would ACTUALLY BELIEVE that Obama is the antichrist wasn't wavering on their choice of candidate. I can't believe for one second that this was what made them change their mind. . .

Easy, their boy is about to blow the layup and they need an excuse.

Ah Hip, yearning again for those good ole' Dark Ages.
What we can agree on is this: modern medicine certainly allows people who would otherwise be unable or unlikely to reproduce be able to reproduce. And this is fine because we have modern medecine, we can handle it.
Car accidents aren't some sort of natural selection.

So it's okay when you initiate it, but not okay when those whose political beliefs are different than yours do it in retort.
Got it.

Not all people have cable.
Not all people have internet.
Not all people care enough to follow politics on a day-to-day or even month-to-month basis.
However, this doesn't make them all ignorant or all racist or all Republicans. Some of these people want to vote Democratic after watching Republicans **** up for quite some time--look at overwhelming turnout in the Democratic primary for evidence.
You probably won't convert any Republicans, but you might inspire someone who wasn't going to vote to actually get to the polls. It's simply covering your bases and allaying fears, whatever those questions may be.

...and I agree 100%. Which is why I'm saying these loony toon emails aren't changing people who don't have this access. They don't get it. The only access they have is your basic stations on tv and newspapers. NONE of which are saying Obama is the anti-christ. NONE of which are saying he is Muslim. In fact, the only time it's getting brought up is when they're discussing these silly allegations.
Now, if you want to say that those people might be getting this information from their friends, I can't dispute that at all. But, at the end of the day, either through the litmus test of who you choose as your friends or otherwise, I don't think these people would have voted for him anyway.

That's exactly what I was referring to: word of mouth. And I think for smaller communities it matters more than you think, and that's why it's been responded to in that setting.
I think OMR's point is not so much that "This is the excuse" so much as "This is a consistent, despicable pattern of misinformation that needs to be called out for what it is." Of course, people with other agendas/ideologies/perspectives will have their own interpretation.

This is definately one of my points and here is my other one:
McCain is having a pretty hard time getting enthusiasm up among the Republican base, especially evangelicals. He knows that due to his record evangelicals are never going to be that excited about him, BUT what he can do is make evangelicals turn out to vote AGAINST Obama. Because he is after-all, the Anti-Christ and even McCain would be better than that dude.
