I like it because it prevents leftists that occupy large cities from dominating the politics of the country. You hate it for the same reason. I'm happy about it and you're not. Good for me!!
This argument doesn't hold water. If it did, Kerry would have won the election. Bush I and Reagan wouldn't have been elected with such powerfull numbers. One man one vote.

Funny how no one had any issues with the electoral college until 2002. In other word for roughly 225 years it was fine-but just recently its not so fine.

Funny how an increasingly urban population will do that.

See, the reason Obama is losing this election now has nothing to do with him being portrayed as Muslim, a radical, or (pardon my hysterical laughter) the Anti-christ. It has to do with him moving away from SHOWING how he is different, to just talking about it. He's saying and doing the same thing that McCain and Hillary Clinton have/are/were doing. He's playing both sides of the field and he's trying to prey on peoples fears just like they did. I'm quite disappointed he's moved in this direction to be honest.
You can be sure though that Democrats will blame this sort of stuff on his losing. Not remembering that people who believe this nonsense weren't voting for him in the first place. . .
Yeah...our population has become so much smarter in the last 8 years. An astronomical leap in the overall intelligence of our country. Saw a story about this the other day on TMZ.com.

Like you said earlier man. It took 225 years for people to evolve to the point where they don't like haveing what little authority they have robbed of them by the federal government. Keep the man outta my personal life, and let me have my say.
Don't get me started on having to pass classes to have a baby.
Maybe a side topic and maybe an outright rant but-
People use Darwin to trump those who believe in some type of organized religion. I always wondered though how many of those same people believe in helmet laws, seat belt laws, and other "for your own good" nanny state type laws that allow those that wouldn't normally be around through natural selection not only to stick around-but multiply.

It was always an issue--just not at the forefront of most voters' concerns. Bigger fish to fry, you know?
And I think the year you were looking for is 2000.
