Meanwhile, the Iraq war costs $8 billion a month. That's an 8 followed by nine zeroes.
Dividing for percentage of the U.S. population, that's about $250-300 million for L.A. County alone for the month.
Start a new thread if you want to debate the war. If you want to debate illegal aliens the floor is yours. Bait and switch of topics does not equal honest debate and discussion.

Stay true to your roots Hip, thread-jacks are a time-honored tradition.
To forward the debate, what's the problem? They don't cover their expenses, or they don't cover enough of their expenses? Do we apply this type of thinking toward the jobless-leech Americans? What about the poor? There's a reason they're getting these social programs...
I've always been amazed that they can so easily come up with an accurate total of all these illegals getting taxpayer funded stuff shovelled their way, but they can never seem to actually identify it and stop it.
I'd also like to see an actual zero sum total, because I think it's pretty obvious that illegals also to spend some of their money, with a percentage of that money going back to the government via taxes.
Do we apply this type of thinking toward the jobless-leech Americans?

What Kind of thinking are we talking about? If its the type of thinking that says "gee we're shelling out tons of money for people who shouldn't be here" then I agree with you.
And once again the issue is 35 million per month to support illegals-not jobless leech Americans. They are two very different issues. You will always have social parasites and you will always have some who don't like to work; spending 35 million on illegals does nothing at all to affect the latter. Thus the phrase "jobless-leech Americans" is just a straw man argument.

You want to discuss the illegal immigrant costs. I cannot deny that there is a set cost to having these undocumented people here. Some of them are leeches, just like their citizen brethren, and some of them are quite industrious.
We've discussed what to do with them ad-naseum, and you usually don't support any form of solution. I'm for identifying and taxing them, it's the most fair solution, in my opinion.
What I meant by the same kind of thinking, is: "hey, you guys cost us money, so we're going to treat you like an underclass," without the recognition that these second and third class citizens(Americans or NOT) continue to buttress our first class life. No good solutions come out of that way of thinking.
Living in Southern California, without relying on illegal labor, is a herculean task up there with buying non-Chinese goods. Only the son of God can accomplish it; we already killed him once, allegedly.
Ah yes... yet another Illegal Aliens thread.. You do realize that if we piss them off and they walk off their trabajos.. we're gonna have to deal with clear freeways again.

They are not buttressing our lifestyle-they are dragging it down. Wage Suppression and depression invariably occurs when the pool of labor drastically weights to one side. Illegal aliens steal jobs from the least skilled least educated US citizens and drive down their wages thus raising the chances those americans will then also need social services and handouts.

And yet, you still lay blame on the people accepting the jobs, and not the ones handing them out.

Do you really think the illegals are stealing jobs? I'd rather say that they take jobs nobody else wants to take.
We have the same problem here in Germany; there is plenty of work for many unemployed, least skilled and least educated people (for example as harvesters), but no one wants to work in such jobs, because they think that they are about it. Consequence? Immigrants from other countries (in our case from Poland) take those jobs.
Or would you work 10 hours a day as a harvester for minimum wage...or rather stay at home and get about the same payment for doing nothing? Go figure...
