I'm a little concerned myself. Personally I think the GOP is rooting for Clinton to be the nominee. The 'slime machine' will be out in full force this summer if she is.
To all of you GOP fans, why is there so much venom towards Hillary?? All I hear in the media is how much the conservatives hate Hillary and that boderline independent/conservative voters would prefer Obama or Edwards to Hilllary. Que Paso?
She used to give me an election, but not so much in the past few years. Her looks kinda turned south.

Sadly... yes I said sadly... the main factor working against her is that she's a woman, therefore her "electability" is not what it would be if she had a penis. Obama isn't fairing much better (again sadly) due to the color of his skin. All the democrats would have to do to win the election is nominate a white male and they're in. It's a ****ty, ****TY state of affairs, but it's the sad truth.

I think Clinton or Obama would beat any conservative candidate by a landslide, except for Mc Cain. Place Guiliani, Huckabee, or Romney in the bid and the conservative coffin is as good as nailed.
Ugh, I don't want to see a Clinton vs. Mc Cain finale. We're screwed if that is the case.
And unfortunately, yes, she is electable.

And as soon as McCain picks Lieberman for VP, it's over.
Seriously.
To answer the first question, yes she could be elected, but I agree with PM here. The demonstrated appeal of McCain and Lieberman to independents would carry the day. Conservatives would hold their noses and vote for McCain, and barring a 3rd party conservative candidate (that doesn't seem to be out there) it would be a done deal.
BTW, the Clintons have a pretty good slime machine of their own, just ask Obama.

Don't be fooled. Summer doesn't need to come for the machine to be in full force. It will get worse though, yes.
It was either Irisher or Leonidas that linked us to an article that was recently written by The Rove. The conservative smear machine is rolling strong, although I think Obama will get it worse than Hillary will if he is elected on the democratic side.

Not a GOP fan, but I do know some of the reasons. Personally, I don't care for her politics, but I do not hate her.
First is that she is considered ultra-liberal. Second, "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy". Third, GOP was unable to oust husband from presidency. Fourth, fat ankles.

True..I forgot about the 'Kankle' aspect of Hil-Dog.

Yes, she is electable. Not only is she electable, she'll win by a large margin in most cases. McCain is the ONLY GOP candidate with a snowballs chance in hell at beating her. That's why I'm rooting hard for Romney. Huckabee doesn't have a prayer at winning.... but God, if he was the nominee we could just skip the election and inaugarate Hillary.
P.S. - This notion that LIEberman would strengthen a McCain ticket is laughable. Independents don't like Joementum. Moderate Republicans do. Those are the same people who McCain appeals to regardless. The fantasy that LIEberman would suck away democrats into voting for McCain is ludicrous. I am enjoying watching Fox News going ape **** as their candidate, Rudy 9ui11ani, is going up in flames in Florida and knowing they're going to have to back Mitt Romney. Neil Cavuto did a whole hit job on his show over John McCain yesterday. Good times.

I'll be physically ill if she were to be elected. She is the democratic version of Dubya. Riding coattails and not worthy of being president. The only reason she'll get elected is because of her husband, just like the only reason Dubya was elected was because of his dad. The democrats are morons, they are basically having the White House handed over to them on a silver platter after the Bush administration crashed and burned due to their incompetence, and the best the Democrats can do is two unqualified people. I think Edwards is more electable than either Hillary or Obama. They should be winning this in a landslide, instead there is a very good chance they are going to lose. Unless Gore throws his hat in the ring at the last second.
I am kind of hoping for it to come down to a choice between two of Obama, Clinton, and Romney though. Mainstream America having to choose between a black man, a white woman, and a Mormon. In that case, Nader may finally have a chance.
