About This Page: This is a discussion on Politics within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Why? Why is every far-leftist so fascinated by the Marxist Che Guevara?
Why are there flags with large pictures of Guevara on the walls of liberal Presidential candidate's campaign offices
Because all they know is Che = Revolution. What, you thought people would actually READ about the things they support?
(And NO it's not a shot at one side or the other.)

Wow. Pretty stupid. But people love obama-he'll get a pass.
I agree. He got a pass last year when he was asked about not wearing the American Flag on his suit lapel (as has been tradition of every American civil servant running for office for oh, I don't know, DECADES). Said wearing it represented "phony patriotism."

Glenn, I could picture you and I having a good conversation about this. Che's a good conversation piece. I don't idolize him nor admire him, but I do have a tremendous amount of respect for him, criminal or not.
Read Companero and his Motorcycle Diaries. Come to think of it, we should do that. I'll bring my camera, take yours, share opinions and we can enjoy a ballgame. I'll tell you all about Che. You can tell me all about piloting.
I'm pretty sure Obama didn't order anybody to put up Che flags... as for his not wearing an American Flag pin on his lapel.... who the **** has time to care about that?
I didn't say he ordered anyone to put them up. Fact is they're up. And they're up in his campaign offices. If he doesn't idolize Guevara, they shouldn't be up.
I'd imagine a Presidential candidate would want to build his own "revolution" rather than riding on the back of a ruthless Marxist murderer.
As far as the American Flag lapel-pin goes, his desire to be disassociated with the symbol of our great nation and his response to the press about the subject spoke volumes about his ideological beliefs. So whether he wears it or not is more important to many people than you seem to think it should be.

Seriously.
And given the right's idol worship with Reagan, they've got nothing to talk about on this issue.

He shouldn't have to pander to people who get up-in-arms over stupid ****.
Um, CUBAN flag displayed in United States Presidential campaign offices...
I'll grant you the lapel pin, it's not an issue. At least not to me. I had a guy lay into me at a gas station shortly after September 11th because I didn't have a flag decal on my car. So I directed him to my Department of Defense sticker and that was last I heard about that. Point is, service takes precedence over show any day of the week.
However, the flags with Guevara on them are a point of concern. It doesn't seem to make much sense. Unless of course he's going for the young uneducated vote as well, and can you blame the guy? What I'm hearing from a lot of from the older crowd is they're probably not going to even vote, and America is flooded with uneducated youth.
No, you've got to concede some form of concern over this. Hate to play the card, but if one of the Republican candidates had this up in their office, some of you would have a fit about it.

Because he stood against the greed and bloodlust of an Imperialistic United States colonial policy and its proxies militarily and won. That's where the fascination lies.

America is flooded with uneducated people. This board reinforces that daily.
I'm sure that flag is taken down as soon as his national HQ gets wind of it. But it will be amusing to see people get all riled up about it just to find out some kid intern put it up.

Because it's pretty common knowledge--Google is a wonderful thing. To a lot of people, the guy signifies revolution against an imperial presence (in Cuba's case, a US-installed dictator).
Like George Washington and Thomas Paine and Patrick Henry for us.
