About This Page: This is a discussion on Politics within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. The Wall Street Journal originally broke the story, but that was two weeks ago. Doesn't seem to be in the news much....hmmmm....

The answer to this is simple. You right wingers will claim that its the liberal media conspiracy I know.. but... The reason this is not a big story is because republicans don't really want it to be. Know why? Cuz they do the same stuff and if the story blows up it will blow up in everyones face. No matter how right or left a politician is they all have the same desire to keep their jobs. Campaign finance rules are made to be broken, dodged or slipped through.
All well in good-but how does this change these facts?
Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to accusations that he defrauded investors of $1 million. He was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before his sentencing in 1992. He finally surrendered to the arrest warrant Aug. 31, but disappeared before last week's hearing where he was expected to turn over his passport and ask a judge to cut his $2 million bail in half.
Wolfson said the Clinton campaign was "unaware of Mr. Hsu's decade-plus old warrant," despite what he described as a thorough review of public records.
Does some other schmo getting busted for something similar make this any less palatable or sleazy? Dont get me wrong Irisher-Im not saying your wrong or right but dont you ever get tired of the "our side/their side" rhetoric?
I cant believe that the 2 party system is so thoroughly ingrained in the american psyche that people wont even hold their own parties accountable regardless of what side of the aisle they're on. Surprised that otherwise intelligent people on this forum and elsewhere continue to fall for the trick that keeps the status quo the status quo and the hypocritical crooks in washington in power regardless if they have a D or an R next to their name.
Pointing your finger at the opponent doesnt do anything to change the problems on your own team-its serves merely as deflection.

It is not a team (D or R) problem but a systematic one. Why the hell is Obama cozying up to Oprah and her buddies?
I like most of what he says but that type of stuff is so corruptible and anti-democratic.
Bingo.
And that's why when yet another dumbass thread like this one comes up, pointing fingers at one side, that the "Hey, it happens on your end too" stuff comes out.
And this would happen regardless of the existence of the two-party system.
Dont get me wrong Irisher-Im not saying your wrong or right but dont you ever get tired of the "our side/their side" rhetoric.
Come down of the soapbox, buddy. I've pretty much ruled out voting for Hillary, nor am I Democrat. As for the our side/their side rhetoric, you ought to ask that of the OP, since it's his thread.
As Maddogg, jbruin, and go have already mentioned, the process is so crippled that it invites corruption. The way campaign finance works, if you're not cheating, you're not trying.
Further, as you yourself alluded to, as long as only two viable choices exist, and they both draw from the same well, stuff like this will happen.

As long as we have people blinding pulling the lever for either party those parties will remain further entrenched. If more started voting libertarian or green or whatever we could possible see some real progress. Even though I probably oppose a lot of things the Green party stands for I have tons more respect for the people with the courage to vote for them then I do with anyone voting Dem or Rep.
As for the original post tenspot said "its on both sides of the aisle" to which you cut and pasted the prototypical "their side is worse" link.

Your posts have really sucked lately. You're letting your emotions get the better of your reasoning. Calm down and reread the thread.
The OP only copped to "both sides of the aisle" after his own hypocrisy had been pointed out.
Secondly, nowhere did I say "their side is worse."
Why don't you relax a bit, and you might have a chance to return to being a semi-respectable poster and moderator.
LOL- Im calm as a cucumber. You should be more like seraphim-his 12 words ring more true then any of your attempts to simply demonize or belittle someone with an opposing view.

Look at this way: If you actually understood what you read and didn't carelessly toss insults around, I wouldn't have to belittle you.
EDIT: As for seraphim's typically pithy observation, I share his opinion. In fact, most people in this thread seem to share it. The only people acting indignant are you and the original poster.
