Default Democratic Debate

I spend Saturday night watching the repeat of CNN's Democratic Debate from Vegas. The only person who stood out was Joe Biden. I actually liked the guy. He was the only one who had the balls to answer questions that were asked. I never seen so many people side stepping a direct question that was asked to them.

This is exactly how I feel about Ron Paul in the republican debates. What the **** is wrong with answering questions directly anyways? Why can't our representatives be straight with us? I mean, the american people aren't stupid. We can deal with a little bit of blunt honesty.

Remember . . . these candiates aren't trying to win an election, but a primary. The dodging of questions is different, as it's much harder to come up with quality policy differences that are wide enough for an electorate to take notice.

I've always been impressed with Biden, but he won't work on a national basis, and everyone knows this. Not just for his inability to say stupid stuff (I think we've proven that we'll elect someone like that), but he fails in the unfortunately "tag line" area of policy. He's always been one to explain himself to death, and realizes that most issues in this country require more than a sound bite to answer correctly.

I agree but Obama was continually asked a "yes or no" question. He would not answer the moderators question. He would go off in a major tangent.

But he's so well spoken and charismatic. WHo cares if he doesn't really stand for anything or have a clue what he would do his first day on the job.

Yeah, the debate was pretty lousy. Each candidate's response began with some type of asskissing "thank you", then dodged the question and went off on the same old rehashed horse****.
