I was reading about this this morning...talk about disturbing!

I also don't believe the mother knew nothing about this. From the picture, it looks relatively clean and well kept. 24 years of extra food going in, trash coming out, laundry back and forth. Unless she (the mother) had major mental issues, how would she not know?

And what of the grandparents. They just agreed to take care of three kids? Did they ever question this? Yikes!!

When the story says that 3 of the children lived with the grandparents I'm assuming they meant the captive woman's mother and the guy doing the abuse. The captive woman was 42, her father 73, so I don't know what other grandparents they could have meant.

That story is so sad and messed up at the same time.

Checking the link again to reread the details, AOL has updated the story quite a bit. I can't believe he only faces the possibility of 15 years for kidnapping for keeping his daughter locked up for 24 years. not to mention the 5, 18 and 19 year olds who had never see the light of day until this all happened.
