Justice Arthur Cooperman said he found problems with the prosecution's case. He said some prosecution witnesses contradicted themselves, and he cited prior convictions and incarcerations of witnesses.
He also cited the demeanor of some witnesses on the stand.

What happened next was at the heart of the trial, prosecuted by the assistant district attorney in Queens.
Bell, Guzman and Trent Benefield got into the car, with Bell at the wheel. The detectives drew their weapons, said Guzman and Benefield, who testified that they never heard the plainclothes detectives identify themselves as police.
Bell was in a panic to get away from the armed men, his friends testified.
But the detectives thought Bell was trying to run down one of them, according to their lawyers, believed that their lives were in danger and started shooting.
In a frantic 911 call, police can be heard saying, "Shots fired. Undercover units involved."
A total of 50 bullets were fired by five NYPD officers. Only three were charged with crimes.
Oliver, who reloaded his semiautomatic in the middle of the fray, fired 31 times, Isnora fired 11 times, and Cooper, whose leg was brushed by Bell's moving car, fired four times, the NYPD said.
So a cop was hit by a moving vehicle. Case closed.

I don't have all the facts so I cannot begin to pass judgment here from my armchair. Not that that stops anyone else these days. The thing about these hot-button cases though is that there will likely be an appeal and there will be a lot of pressure on appellate court with all the public outrage. If that doesn't fly the feds can come in and take another crack at these officers under the guise of a civil rights violation. So my guess is that this is far from over.
The cops said they thought he was trying to run them down, no one actually got hit by the car unless I missed something in the article. They unloaded 50 shots at him which means they had to stop and reload a few times.
wow
Might I suggest you read the article again? This time, read it s-l-o-w-l-y.
Luckily I demand more from myself than you do from yourself.
You also beat yourself more than he beats himself. But I'm sure that's just an attempt to prevent prostate cancer.

They'll only cite you for selling without a permit.
i'm not gun expert, but among 5 guns (5 officers), there would be at least 50 rounds right?? this isn't meant to sound sarcastic. i'm really asking. i do agree that we should reserve judgement since its impossible to know all the facts of the case.

If the officers were using semi-auto's (which I will assume they were), each weapon will usually have a magazine that fits 14-16 rounds, so there were 70-80 rounds available.
It does say one officer re-loaded.
I don't know all the facts of the case, so I won't pass judgement. But 50 rounds fired and only one dead person? Even given that it was probably a high-stress situation for those involved, that just seems excessive (not to mention, extremely poor marksmanship).
