The self-absorbed scumbag that is Hillary Clinton makes her goal this campaign increasingly clear. 'If I don't get the nomination I'll stay around and damage Obama until I'm sure that he's weak enough to lose to McCain.' She believes she can then step in to run for the nomination in 2012 using the 'I told you so' argument. She cares nothing about McSame and the Bush 'third term' she will guarantee the Republicans.
The recent threat by the 20 or so major Dem fundraisers that was directed at Pelosi and the Demo Congressional Campaign fundraising committee in retaliation for her comment that the superdelegates should support the candidate who wins the most pledge delegates indicates as much. Not only do the Clinton's and their supporters not want to see Obama elected--he's a threat to their power over the party because he's raised far more money that Clinton and at an average of $109 a contributor--but they don't even care if the Republicans take control of the House and Senate again. All she really cares about is her own career and power. No surprise since Bill was exactly the same way.
Problem for Clinton is that this strategy will force more and more superdelegates to support Obama since it's their careers in politics that are threatened by the Clinton strategy that ignores the party for the pear shaped windbag's ego and ambition.
Expect more supers to follow the lead of Senator Casey of Penn. and Leahy of Vermont over the next few weeks and especially after the Penn. vote is over.

I think most of this is correct. I'm leaning toward McCain myself if Hilliary gets nominated that's for sure. In fact, before yesterday's McCain "courting" of that dolt Romney I would have said without question I'd go for McCain. Now I'm not sure...it will depend on his VP. If it's another moderate I'll vote McCain for certain. If Obama is nominated then the game changes completely...unless he does something stupid like taking Clinton as VP.
I don't know how typical I am of the voting public but I'd classify myself as a very moderate Republican: fiscally right libertarian and leans left on social issues. One who absolutely despises the "authoritarian wing" of the party. Is this the typical person who could vote Obama but not Clinton? I dunno....
I would point out I don't believe for a minute that "McSame" is good classification of the AZ Senator but that's another issue.

Jom, I am very much with you on this. I have voted for Republicans and Democrats and consider myself a slightly right leaning moderate. I voted for McCain last time around but am not sold on any of the candidates this time. Obama intrigued me enough to read his book but his far-left voting record concerns me. The only person I could never see myself voting for is Hillary.
That said I find the whole democratic primary curious. Like watching an accident occur. In a year where democrats should have an easy time winning the presidency, the primary could turn into such a train wreck as to turn things in favor of the republicans again. In fact I think it is ironic that they call themselves the "democratic party" when the primary process seems not to be very democratic at all. Any way you look at it now, party hacks, er I mean "super delegates" will decide the nominee, while ordinary voters in Michigan and Florida are ignored.
Democrats are their own worst enemies....and they want to run the country. Not saying that they can't but man oh man...are they a political party of a ****ing soap opera?
The Democrats need to start presenting a political philosophy rather than just saying Bush is an idiot and we will redo everything bad he has done. Reactionary politics do not lead to lasting majorities. A party needs a vision. Like FDR in the 30's, like Reagan in the 80's etc....

After this shocking news came out further rumors followed that floated the notion that she might stay in the race until the Earth's crust turns itself inside out through techtonic plate shifting and volcanic eruption, or until Bill screws her again, whichever comes first. She would only withdraw earlier if she grew so large that no pant suits could be engineered to fit her. In the event that she has to switch over full-time to wearing moo-moos, an aide said that would likely cause her to "fold up her tent
and leave the race."
