We all know about 28% approval rate, but there is an all-time high disapproval rate now. 69% actively disapprove of Bush's performance now and an equal percentage describe his administration as a "failure."
32% of R's, 72% of Ind's, and 91% of D's disapprove of Bush's performance.
At his peak right after 9/11 his approval rating was 90%.
66% of all Republicans still approve of Bush's job.
In spite of that last number way too many Americans think that the current situation is fundamentally a "Bush" problem as opposed to a Republican Party problem (which it is) and the Republicans are, IMO, likely to be able to win the coming presidential election and guarantee the disapproving but inane citizenry more of the same.

I would bet IF Hillaray had handled the primary "situation" better the Dems would have KILLED the Reps. She has just abnout given McCain every ad he'll ever need to run against Obama. OR she find a way to steal the nominationa dn America will turn on her adn the Dems, either way they lose. Even I didn't think the Reps could hold the Whitehouse after Bush II
Isn't this great. We have to replace an unpopular President with three members of an unpopular Senate. Politics doesn't get any better than that.

You know what's really interesting though? I heard several Republican women this morning on the news saying they are voting democrat for the first time and against their husbands advise. Their primary reason was the war and the economy. McCain is more of the same according to the women interviewed this morning. I'm glad republican women are starting to think for themselves. Bush has set women back years. It's time for all Americans to vote regardless of their party affiliation. I've been voting democrat since Bush Sr.
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that women are alot more ticked off at the situation in this country than they're letting on. Their sons are dying, they can't afford to feed the rest of the family and gas $ is taking more and more of the household budget.
As much as I want to see someone other than Bush, its a fallacy to thin k he is the cause of our rising gas prices and they will suddenly drop with someone else in office. Unfortunately, were stuck with this one for the long haul.
First of all, he's not even close to a Republican. Secondly, any "real" Republican probably won't vote for McCain simply because of that asinine Campaign Finance Reform bill he and Feingold shoved down our throats.

Wait. Who's not a Republican? Bush or McCain? Because they're both Republicans.
