I officially hate Ron Paul and if Thompson doesn't work out, my second and third choices would have to be Duncan Hunter or John McCain.
Thoughts?
You are out of touch with American society if you think that America is ready to vote for a woman president or a black president.
American will vote for a black man before a white woman for president but it's at least 25-50 years away. Also, that man will have to be ultra conservative in order for it to occur. If the Dems put out a Hillary or Obama in 08 (even a combination of the two) then they can kiss the presidency goodbye.
I'm not saying that is how it should be I'm just saying that is how it is. Sexism and racism are stronger forces in this country than you give them credit for.

And give it to who? The neocons again. They all are spewing neocon rhetoric, except Ron Paul and maybe Mike Huckabee. The Republicans cannot win unless they propagandize and America falls for it again or if they change their tune and moderate.
You may not be ready but America is ready. They are sick of the war and Republicans.
You are also assuming 25 to 30 years from now will be similar to now. I highly doubt it. Environmental changes for one will be on the forefront.
BTW I don't like Hillary. She leans too much on conservative rhetoric instead of destroying it like Obama.

Not that I disagree, but Hillary leans on the conservative rhetoric because her campaign feels that America needs to be reassured a woman can have strong stance on defense and foreign policy.
....
Ron Paul on the other hand, is too extreme. Have you read his views on the role of the central government? If he had his druthers, he would cut all social programs, take an isolationist position on foreign policy, and institute a flat tax.

I am a Republican who is not happy with his party, or politicians in general. While I agree with GO we are mostly upset over the war and GW I am not so sure people are upset enough to vote for Hillary or Obama. I do thing Obama is the best candidate the Dems can put out there, do youi put Hillary as her VP will she take that position?
just not sure middle America will vote for a women or a black man. A combo of the two will send some in the other direction. This looks like a place for a viable 3rd party candidate to step up.

About Hillary I agree. Lets see if she can pull the wool over America's eyes though.
About Ron Paul. Yeah kinda sad that he one of the only Republicans calling the neocons out.

A couple things. More and more people are calling themselves Democrats or Independents. Republicans are losing people especially the young. Not that they were all that great with the younger generation in the first place.
Maybe the so called Middle sexist-racist American will not vote at all.
If there is a 3rd party candidate. A Democrat will win hands down.

Hillary would have a better chance that Obama. Have you wondered why she is has a conservative spin to what she is saying? It's because she is smart to know that as the first ever female Presidential candidate she cannot win unless she, at the very least, appeases some conservative concerns while campaigning. She will have people, on both sides of the political spectrum, voting AGAINST her simply because she is a woman. I'm not a fan of hers at all but I respect the fact that she knows how to play the game.
Obama doesn't stand a chance. I'm going to be extremely blunt here and please understand that while I don't necesarily agree with these reasons I acknowledge them as real life issues to lots of people in this country.
1. He's black. Much like Hillary he will have voters, both Republican and Democrat, voting against him because of the color of his skin. Racist individuals will register to vote just to make sure that a black man doesn't hold the office of president. Deny it all you want but good luck getting some of those oh so important Southern votes. Lets face it, unless the Dems manage to swing Florida, or Georgia or Ohio then you can forget about the election. Good luck doing that with a black candidate. You may argue that a record number of African Americans will register just to vote for Obama. I will bet you that not enough of them will.
2. His name. Some simple minded people won't want him to hold office because he has a Muslim name. Stupid? Yes. Fact of life? Also yes.
3. He is too liberal. A black Presidential candidate will need conservative support to win the election. Like it or not it's a fact of life for any first time minority. Hillary gets it and Obama doesn't. If you guys roll him out there then expect a to be in for another 4 years of Republican presidency.

Those may be reasons but those people who believe in such character assassination qualities should be shamed and ridiculed.
30% may whole heartedly believe in that. While 30% like you are persuaded by the above. The rest of America doesn't believe in such nonsense.
Now this should be said over and over again. Instead of the above points.
