I want to start by saying that I am not frustrated with the time it is taking for the rebuilding to be done right. My statement of 'mailing it in' comes from Hextall's responses to some questions directed at him.

I define filler players as anyone who is signed for 2 years or less. When Hextall says it is too difficult for a veteran to give their best without a defined role (that the Kings aren't helping with beyond waiting for the kids to get it right) and the UFAs don't want to come here. If the organization/Hextall aren't demanding some accountability of these players, then what motivation can be asked of these players who find it too difficult to be in this environment. (Last I checked, this is their job just as it better be the organization's responsibility to help make that happen.)

One problem thinking that UFA's will/won't come here; and the younger players have to "make it happen" first before the UFA's do come here. Look at all the young players we DID have here...who've moved on to bigger & better teams. LA is currently the "community college" for young players to cut their teeth then transfer onto the big stage.

Hextall's response, "...hard to coach...' What?!!! Maybe bring Keenan here. "Hard to coach" is nothing but another excuse for last place & more wasted top draft choices. Send Hextall back to Philly.

There are coaches out there willing to come here & motivate.

But why should they come here & work, the players work, etc, when Hextall's already written things off?!

Re Blake? He can only do so much. I admire him for still playing with heart when most others he played with have retired.

My feeling remains the same, until the coaching staff starts making good decisions on and off the ice, I can't blame the players for what we have to put up with out on the ice. Players not only have to respect the coach they have to know the decisions made by them are the right ones. If the fans don't even see it, can't expect the players to as their knowledge of Hockey is from experience and not watching.

Maybe Kings are looking for more ECHL players...cheaper, not fully knowing that playing here means they aren't playing for the Ducks...

Make Hex watch "Miracle On Ice" until he can quote everything Brooks says about winning.
