To start the day off Garon, Labarbera, Fukufuji, Munce, and Brust were doing goalie drills. Then Team Goring and Murphy came on and ran drills. I liked the way MC ran practice - he's not afraid to get in the face of players that are slacking off. On one particular play Pushy tried to be fancy and didn't get a shot off - he kind of was slow getting back until MC started banging his stick in his face to wake him up. Hopefully MC can get this squad together and we'll be in good form when the season starts.
Onto scrimmage - here were the lines (I'm not sure which team was Goring and which was Murphy, so I'll just classify them based on the jerseys they wore)
Black Forwards
O'Sully-Conroy-Cammy
Moulson-Belanger-Kanko (O'Sully played a few shifts with this line too)
Cowan-Lewis-Meckler
McLaren-Korchinski-Roussin D-Lines
Miller-Mormina
Sopel-Harrold
Schmidt-?(I forget who) Goalies
Garon (1st game), Munce (2nd game)
White Forwards
Zeiler-Kopitar-Hogeboom (Avery played a few shifts with this line)
Frolov-Kopitar/Avery-Henderson
Ivanans-Kostopoulos-Murphy
Clarke-Avery-Jackman (Kopitar played with this line a lil) D-Lines
Blake-Ryan
Gleason-Werner
Dallman-Greenan Goalies
Labarbera (1st game), Brust (2nd game)
1st game was all black - I think Cammy scored the 1st goal, I'm not positive since I couldn't see his side too clearly from where I sat. O'Sully got an empty netter at the end. Garon made a sweet save off Kopitar who was alone in front. Frolov also could have had a breakaway but he wasn't paying attention and let the puck slip by him. Black won game 1 2-0.
The 2nd game ended in a 2-2 tie. Murphy (I'm pretty sure it was him - either him or TK, again my vision wasn't the best) poked it in off a rebound for Black. Also for black, Henderson hit a slapshot right past Brust. Roussin scored 2 consecutive goals for the White.
After that I watched Team Berry (Dustin Brown, Army, Pushy, Willsie, Thornton, Matti, Lubo, Cloutier, Bernier etc) do their drills. I had to leave when they started skating drills.
Other random notes:
-Dustin Brown and Deano were laughing it up chatting with each other before the practice, so that should relieve anyone who's still worried about him not being signed
-Cloutier surrendered quite a few goals during practices - not looking forward to seeing him in goal this year
-Bernier looked solid during drills. Can't wait to see how talented this guy is in a few years.
If anyone who was there has more thoughts, please post them
Thanks for the notes I went to see the SJ practice and honestly it really looked like they didint want to be there, Mike Grier and Scott Hannan were arguing like kids, few fan were booing any how I wish i could have seen the kings,, thanks
I was there for Day 1 and during the scrimmage it seemed like Bernier let pretty much everything through.
Great moves by Frolov as usual. Also some number changes....Parros is wearing 26 and Gleason is wearing number 6. Whether this is a permanant thing, I don't know because there was another number 57 and 42 out there. (I don't know who they were.)
I plan on being out there again on Sunday....anyone else going?

Well, I plan on being there on sunday as well, and am very excited to see what we have to look forward to this season.
p.s.......interesting possible number changes for gleason and parros. Oh well, time will tell.

MC doesn't have a problem with swearing at the players either. Heard a few F-bombs come from him.

Although one day at practice can hardly allow an accurate assessment of a player, this is definitely the way I felt about these two goalies at today's workout as well.

I am glad someone knew who wrote down the lines today. LOL I was really impressed with Garon and Lopitar. Frolov put in a good practice and Avery was skating as hard as I have even seen. the Conroy-Cammy-Sully line was pretty good, although sully was pretty invisiable, cammy and conroy had most of the chemistry. Fukifuji looks like he is developing, and I am so glad that Ranford is coaching these guys. One of the best pickups of the offseason IMO. There are so many new faces. Ivannis is HUGE, I can't wait to see him go toe-toe with someone. Kanko was average, Blake looked average, Shay Stephenson looked pretty good, the guy is tall but has some pretty good speed.
Saw a few preople from the boards today, the usual crowd for Training Camps. LOL I only see some of these people one a year, so it was good to see everybody.

Went to my first practice yesterday, very interesting and enjoyable
Like Crawfords style - glad the players can understand the lines he draws on the little dry board
Avery - he will lead the kings in shots - every time he got into the zone he shot
Garon - looked good in the scrimmage
Squid boy - Played well seemed more likely to be physical around the net
O'Sully - Thought he and squid played well so much so that I had to concentrate on looking for Conroy
Definately recommend going for anybody who is thinking about it
