Heaven forbid Antonio would have suffered the loss. But then again, you never claimed to be bias.
hehehehehe!
I'm not biased. I think his play has been crap recently. Definitely not what he can do. He's second guessing himself.
Also, Aubin was pulled a few games ago after giving up some pretty quick goals. Jason replaced him, let in 1 goal and took the loss. I was just looking for a fair is fair trade off. Aubin takes one for the team and so does Jason.
No bias.
Now I know I'm late but I'm gonna give my 2 cents of the heart/no heart regardless
As a coach, and I mean ages 12-22 (Middle School through College) I get to see athletes compete everyday. There are athletes whom can have the appearance of lack of heart, when it is just mistakes. But then you get the athletes I LOVE to coach. Those that heart carries them, and that's what we want/look for. That person does things like:
-When they make a mistake you seem them get upset so that they want that next play to redeem themselves.
And I always tell my players, we make mistakes, that's fine, but redeem yourself, you make one, get that point back
-When you're on the rink/court/field hustle... especially hockey where you're playing short shifts with longer breaks. You condition for that reason. (you hear it at young ages all the time... your feet should never stop moving). Don't ever stop moving give 110% for your 30 seconds to a minute, then rest
-If you start losing to a point where you can't win, make the other team regret beating you... get physical show them if they want to come to your home and take your win then there is a price to a pay. (this one I don't always agree with, but I an understand it)
So if you can say that they a) get upset and redeem themselves after a mistake, b) never stop moving their feet, and c) make the other team pay/regret coming and stealing their win then I say it's safe to say they have Heart. If you feel the 3 things are missing you have an arguement against Heart.
Yes, the coach calls the change, BUT, the players have to execute it. And that nice job of clearing the puck by Aubin - brilliant move. Way to play your position. I believe that was the 4th goal, was it not? the line change and Aubin's mistake ate them alive.
At that point, I was hoping they could pull out at least 3 goals so Aubin would take the loss. No such luck.
And if I recall correctly, there WAS a Kings defenseman there to take the puck, JS just decided he was in a better position to flip the puck out of the zone.

The puck was cleared past the 2 d-men who were at center ice. JSA made the mistake of trying to get fancy - and he got caught. Kipper got caught behind the net the other night too. Out of position.
Does anyone disagree that this team, as a whole, has enough talent/individual skill to do well? Just thought I'd go Sherlock Holmes stlye, eliminating what it's not.
Of course, we will never all agree on anything, just looking for a general consensus... and something to do while pretending to work.

Yes, I agree. There's a lot of talent on this team. Just watch how they do when all of your "favorites" get traded. The last thing I'd do is trade anyone away. Lombardi was smart enough to "plug holes" for a couple of years and not sign to long term contracts.
I want to see THIS team in a couple of years and see what's been added through Manchester, the draft, etc.
I am assuming that this thread is the result of the 7-0 loss to Nahsville? I'm too lazy to check. If it is then I'm sorry I missed it. See, I am a compassionate person and as much as I love to harp on you guys sometimes after a humiliating defeat I do understand that there are times where it's best just to remain silent. Sometimes, there really isn't anything you can say to add to the pain.
Unfortunately that compassion caused me to miss this gem of a thread. After reading it I'm just berating myself for not having taken part in this. However....
.....I really did appreciate reading everybody and their passionate responses.
