The Los Angeles Kings inked a three-year contract with unrestricted free agent forward Alyn McCauley, Kings GM Dean Lombardi announced on Sunday. McCauley, 29, recorded 26 points (12-14=26) and 30 penalty minutes in 76 regular season games with the San Jose Sharks this past season.
“Alyn is a solid two-way hockey player whose competitiveness and leadership abilities makes him a good fit for our hockey club,” said Lombardi.
this doesn't make alot of sense unless we got him on the cheap. Nothing seems to makes sense this offseason with the Kings.
3 years/6mil doesn't seem cheap to me. Hopefully he can get back to his '03/04 numbers

i didnt think he was worth it until i saw that he was a selke trophy finalist, which is awarded to the best defensive forward. 2 mil a year is still kinda steep, but if he can continue his defensive play and revive his offensive play from 03/04, he'll be very valuable
McCauley is a poorman's version of Craig Conroy. Strong face-offs, good defensively, but doesn't have the offense of Conroy or Belanger.
We will be good defensively down the middle, but who is going to score.
Conroy
Belanger/Cammy (depending if Cammy isn't your 1st line winger)
McCauley
Guiliano
Our offense is weak. Unless Frolov, Brown, Cammy have huge seasons, which is asking alot.
dont be all hard on DEAN he has made some great acquisitions maybe he sees things diferent point of view then us we jst have to wait and see ive been a king fan my hole life and i read about them 24/7 havent missed a game we gave all those other guys a cahnce lets give DEAN a chance hopefully he can pull it off and bring Shanahan and SYkora to the Kings for a better run to the cup
