Kings Royal Experience - Broadcaster for a Night

Well, I just returned from the "Broadcaster for a night" experience.
Im going to tell you about every part of the night.
I knew the night was going to be special when the walk from the car to staples center included a scalper complementing my suit. I arrived and was whisked away to the bowels of staples center. I was taken to the area right outside the locker room and i watched avery and another player workout in the team gym (they asked me not to take pics of the players working out). Then as we walked through the tunnel to the Chick Hearn Press Room and was enjoying the sights of Peter Sykora stretching, Jeoffery Lupul and another oiler jogging around the tunnel, Also I saw Ryan Smith on the bike warming up for the game....hold on the pictures are coming.
Then I was taken to the Chick Hearn Press Room, and i got to have dinner with Patrick O'neal and Lindsay Soto (Even Hotter in person), it was a nice asian theme, and Ron hextall, bob miller, jim fox, daryl evans, and many other were on the next table getting ready. Also a whole table was filled with the nhl officials(goal judge, video goal judge, etc) Jim Hill was ofcaurse there. After dinner we went up to the Press Box...........

As i walked in Daryl and Nick were getting ready to do the pre-game run through, they welcomed me very nicely and were very open encouraged me to ask questions and to really get in close and watch how everything works...

If someone can get in there and get some replays on the board, they're my hero. I'd love to see more replays on the jumbotron.

actually i will say it here and now...it was worth every penny...why because for me as a broadcast student and a big fan of the four guys it was like a investment for my future to see how the real nhl teams do the broadcasts. it was very special

Thank you for the pictures! What did you record the video with? Did they know you were doing so?

Question, probably a silly one... but did they ask you not to cheer when the Kings scored? Since that would kind of make it weird for the people listening on radio or tv? Or anything like that? 1 period with radio. 1 period with tv. Where did you watch the game for 1 more period? And the OT period?

I spoke with them the game after Luc got his 500th. It was not a FSN game so Bob & Jim didn't do the broadcast. Bob was very disappointed that he didn't get to call it but was so happy for Luc anyway. He was so genuine it was a real pleasure spending the 15 minutes with those guys.

They were so nice to stop and chat on their way up to the press box. It was something I will always remember.
