Finland once again beat Team USA; this time in overtime… *ugh* Thus, the U.S. is officially out of the World Championships. It was a truly lost opportunity that the NHL Network aired exactly none of theses games. I foolishly got excited last weekend thinking I would get to see Brown and O’Sullivan play; only to flip the channel to find anything else on the NHL Network.
Besides the television black-out and the transition to Team USA’s own youth movement, apparently the next most reported thing about Team USA is Dustin Brown’s hit at the end of the first contest between USA and Finland. As found by the best writer on the Kings, Daily News’ Rich Hammond, watch it for yourselves:
Brown Hits the World Stage
As much as I enjoy Brown’s hits, it must be said that towards the end of the season, he hit less and I watched a corresponding decline in his offensive punch. It is almost as if Brown forgot what he did to elevate his game this season in the first place. He has to do both, in other words, play his game – nothing more and more importantly ….
nothing less.
Question of the Day:
John Buccigross’ recent column discussed what he thinks of when he channels Kings’ thoughts. Here are his takes:
“Wayne, mullets, miracles, Luc Robitaille, Bob Miller, Jim Fox's hair, Game 7 in Maple Leaf Gardens, stick measurements and Zakk Wylde's "Guitar Hero"-like national anthem.”

What does everyone else think of when they channel the Kings?
