Just a heads up that The LA Kings Booster Club will be collecting CD’s and DVD’s to send to the troops before the next few games on November 11th, 13th, 16th & 18th (1:00pm start).
The Toy/Food Drive will be on November 25th & 27th and December 2nd (1:00pm start) & 7th.
The Kings Care Foundation will be collecting donations at the entrances of STAPLES Center following four home games at STAPLES Center – November 11, November 13, November 16 and November 18 – for their annual CD and DVD Drive. Proceeds from the collection will benefit OPERATION GRATITUDE.
OPERATION GRATITUDE seeks to lift the morale of our military troops and to bring a smile to their faces by sending care packages to service members overseas during the holiday season. Care packages include and contain food, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.
Through collection drives, letter writing campaigns and donations of requested items or funds for shipping expenses, OPERATION GRATITUDE provides civilians anywhere in America a way to express their respect and appreciation to the men and women of the U.S. military in an active, hands-in manner.
I think they require that the CD's & DVD's be new and wrapped. Has to do with security issues I believe.
I've donated quite a bit to Operation Gratitude and the toys and whatnot are asked for by the troops to give to the kids over in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Our CFO had his son deployed to Iraq for 6 months and he said the CD's & DVD's were a Godsend. Took his mind off of the 14 insurgents he had to kill. For a little while at least.
The CD's / DVD's are for the Troops. The toys I believe are for the Kings Players who give them to children in local hospitals.
To be safe bring new...
Cool, thnx for anvser. But i think u shouldnt export CDs, but bring the troops back home instead. Im sure they wish that too I saw those faces last year before chrismas, im not even American and ill hate to see those faces again this year.
EDIT: By "Those" faces i mean those sad "Illd like to go home" faces.
