About This Page: This is a discussion on Food and Beer Reviews within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I've got my Subway sandwich down and haven't changed it at all for a couple months now.
Subway Club on honey oat, spicy mustard, a little mayo, spinach, lettuce, tomato,
The default is Spicy Italian on wheat, no cheese, toasted, light mayo, lettuce, extra tomato, onion, splash of vinegar, pepper.
There is a handful of Subways that have Hot Pastrami, and if they do I get it on wheat, no cheese, not toasted, with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, mayo and mustard.
BMT on Italian w/pepper jack and mustard, then toasted (no mayo). After toasting add lettuce, tomatos, onions, olives, jalapenos, S&P, light oil and vinegar.
Toasting with the mustard brings out a whole different flavor.

I don't eat subway, the bread is crap, measured portions are crap, Jerrod is crap. lol I don't like most any chain sub place, I go to Capriotti's in SD when I want a sub, 20" real turkey hand shredded sub for $12 is a winner.

Cappriotti's is awesome. I actually didn't know there was one in SD, thanks for telling me.
Subway is not gourmet food (especially for someone who's known to go on seafood binges in Hawaii) but it serves its purpose (e.g., driving from Carmel Valley to Hillcrest to pick up a sub from Capriotti is not in the cards for me). It sure as hell is better than Quiznos or Togo.

heh, yeah that's a bit far to go just for a sub but if you're in the area and need a sub for lunch I can't recommend any other place. I usually eat 2/3 of the large sub to fill me up, eat the last third as a late night snack.

Concur with the dislike for Subway. Can't stand their bread. Togos sucks too. I'll pay for Quiznos every now and then. I'm still looking for a good sandwich place in South OC.

Try Tummy Stuffer. They are pretty good but each place makes them a little different.
Subways ok in a pinch. I do the Italian with the works sans onion.
But, if you are in the area, Eagle Rock Italian Bakery on Colorado Blvd has the best I've ever had. (yes even better than Mario's, for you Glendale Dwellers).
