Default Some of the people at Bevmo are idiots....

So gescom told me about the Domaine Chandon Pinot the other day, and his taste in wines is impeccable, so I swung by there to grab a couple of bottles yesterday. I bought the last 2 on the shelf.

We had also talked about a Pinot Meunier they bottle, so I asked the kid if they had it. He wasn't sure so he found me their "Wine Buyer". The guy sat there for 30 minutes arguing with me about the fact that they use that grape to make sparkling wines, they don't bottle it on its own. I keep explaining that I've been on their website, that its won awards, and I've been able to find it on the net, yet he still keeps arguing with me that it DOESN'T exist.

Hey dumbass, its right HERE!

And I can buy it online RIGHT HERE!

WTF do people do that?

I bought 3 bottles of that Domaine Chandon Tuesday.

I expect to have only one by tomorrow morning.

Find out how much they pay the guy and you'll find your answer.

Great call, ges and dudes. The Chandon Pinots Noir and Munier ROCK. Also, their winery is a great one to visit.

Don't worry about that tool, Birdman. He went home and looked it up and most likely felt like a complete dip****--and you look pretty damn savvy.

*edit* HOLY ****!!! Just went to their website and they've got FREE SHIPPING THIS MONTH!!!!! Even to Hawaii! I can't get their still wines out here, so I'm ALL over this! GREAT timing for this thread, Birdman.

That's why you shouldn't buy wines from BevMo.

1) 23 Lbs. Turkey - $23.00

2) 2 Bottles of Domaine Chandon Pinot Noir - $50.00

3) Watching your brother dig it up on the internet after dinner and ordering a case of each.....priceless!!!

This may sound crazy but the Wine Ive bought from Bevmo never tastes as good as the Wine I get at the Wine Club or High Times.

Yep.

A new one opened up here in Long Beach. It's German wine "section" contained about half a dozen wines.

They did carry a liqueur which we hadn't been able to find for ages, so it was nice to be able to restock the bar and have one to give out for Christmas.

But the wine selection is not as good as that of a good wine merchant.

There are idiots on the streets as well so the law of probability says that some of them will be working at BevMo.

They always have Ciroc and Sailor Jerry on sale, so that is why I go back.

Wow, what a wide a varied German selection. I also know of a shop in Long Beach that may have a German section of more than 6 wines.

It's a great place to flirt with guys...but I only hit it up if the car wash is dead and it's too late to go to the driving range.

The Glendora BevMo is horrendous when it comes to asking simple questions that relate to when a certain brew will be in stock. I was once given 2 different answers in a matter of like one minute regarding the Double Bastard release - from the SAME employee ! At first, the only answer I got was the dumbfounded look on his face, convincing me that he had no idea. So I politely said I would return next week and check up on its arrival. And as I am about to walk out, he says "Oh well I can go in the back and check on the computer". Thaaaaank you !

When he returns:

"Yeah, it's a seasonal brew and once we get it in that's that. So you might want to check Monday, that would be the soonest we'd have it. But our shipments comes on Friday. But if we don't get it Friday then try Monday".

Well what the **** is it buddy? LOL.

And of course, as I am about to leave, he says:

"Yeah man, that Double Bastard is great stuff".

And I couldn't even get a half assed answer when I asked about the Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale.
