It has been a while since I went on my whirlwind Root Beer and Cream Soda tasting extravaganza a while back. Thanks to a shift away from soda, it kind of disappeared altogether.
This weekend I did take a walk down the aisle at BevMo again and did pick up a couple of new ones. And I'd like to announce that I found the best Root Beer that I've EVER had so far.
It's called Boot Reer. You can read a review here:
Just finished off my 22 oz. bottle and I've got to say that is one hell of a root beer. Very smooth and creamy. No harsh aftertaste that some of the lesser root beers feature and just an all around great taste. I did think it was a little on the overly sweet side. But that's about the only negative I can think off.
Back when I was a kid my bro worked at one of the original A&W root beer shops. Frosted mugs with the original (not the canned bs out now) A&W were amazing.
Gotta try the new stuff on this thread. Sounds good.
If you're near Highland Park, try Galco's Soda Pop Shop, largest selection of soda pop on West Coast.
Been there many times. I think they have like 35 different types of Root Beer. The owner is very personable and I have seen him take peoples' descriptions of what they are looking for in a soda, and he picks out the perfect one. Like a sode sommelier. (Bonus: they have some old school candies also. U-No, Suggar Daddys, Bit-O-Honey, Look, etc.)
Don't forget to visit the meager yet great sandwich producing deli in the back!
