Perhaps we need an LGK beer club. Here's a link to a place that will ship Bridgeport and other Northwest beers, but they advise that it is best to order large quanities, 5-6 cases. I have a loading dock right around the corner from my office, but I don't know how the unversity would feel about a shipment of beer. But check this place out: http://www.belmont-station.com/bst_map.html
the only Bridgeport they have in stock are the IPA and the Pintail Copper Ale. I grabbed the IPA.
I also picked up Dixie Beer (slow brewed). I've had their Blackened Voodoo and the Crimson. both are great. I had the Dixie Beer in a rib place, of which did not impress me at all, thus I've forgotten about how the beer went.
somehow, a bottle of Stone's Ruination IPA followed me home.
with any luck, the reviews will be up at the end of the weekend.
cheers!
Their IPA is damn good, but the Pintail is their best beer. Be sure ot grab some Pintail next time
Those are the only two Bridgepors you will find at Bevmo

Sign me up for the LGK Beer Club. A-FRODOG will be the mascot.
I'll have to say that the Ruination IPA is quite bitter with a little bit of an aftertaste. not to knock the heavy ale, it's a great brew, but I'd prefer an ABA over it.
Pyramid is not one to be missed. Their Apricot Ale is unique. Not to the standards of all the other beers mentioned here but not a bad brew. It is really bizarre taking the first whiff of a newly opened bottle and smelling apricots! If you don't like apricots don't go there. But if you do you won't be disappointed.

I agree. I was in Seattle last summer and for the week I was there it was 95-97 degrees. I hit the Pyramid brewhouse right across the street from SafeCo Field and the Apricot Ale was nice in the heat.....

Man a Pyramid Apricot Ale off the tap? That must have been nice.
Also does anyone else notice a trend here? Seattle and good beer? I have family and lots of friends there so I am biased but there is some outstanding beers that have been developed there. Red Hook was absolutely great before they went public and were over exposed. That beer was a legend in Seattle for awhile but then they went public too quick. I think Galley and DougW8 know of what I speak regarding Seattle and beer. I would even suggest a trip to the city just for the beer tasting. It would be worth it.
I think the beer club idea is a very good one. We could pool resources and buy 6 or 7 cases of choice brew at a time knocking the cost way down. This is really the only way to get these good beers down this far south. Let me know about interest. Thanks.

I loved Red Hook. I recently read that they closed their old tasting room. Shame. Seattle and Portland have a ton of great microbrews. Must be the rain that makes em want to brew?

Off the tap was actually the first time I ever tried the Apricot Ale. It was very nice especially in the heat. Nice and crisp.
