Very interesting. My belief is that if a beer has to be served really cold, they are trying to hide bad flavor.

It went from bust to one of my favorite winter seasonals just by freezing 'em down. For sh#ts and giggles, have one out of the fridge and then out of the freezer- brings out a nice crisp "spruce-y" taste with a little typical nutmeg, but not very much. Tell me how it goes

For everyday usage, I strongly recommend:

Beck's
and
Erdinger Hefeweizen (wheat beer)

And my personal insiders' tip:

Leffe Brune from Belgium, brewed in a cloister or something, and really one of the best tasting beers I've ever had. If you ever run across Leffe, try it and you will be simply amazed.

I'm having a Lagunitas Brown Shugga right now.



I was kind of expecting it to be maltier, caramellier. It's a little thick, but not overly so. Actually, it's a little fruity and sweet at the beginning (though, again, not as much as I expected), with a hoppy bite at the end. The bitterness really surprised me. It was still pretty good, though you have to expect that from Lagunitas.

A fairly dry cider with a decent apple flavor. 5.5% alcohol, about $5.50 a 6er.

One of my favorites. I'm always happy when I find it on the shelf at my local liquor store.
