In that case, I recommend The Venetian in Point Loma for the best pizza, the best steamed clams, and generally really great home-style Italian.

I just went to Casa de Guadalajara last weekend. LOVED it. QUOTE]
Yeah, if you want a nice alternative to Old Town Mex. Cafe try Guadalajara.
One thing I've noticed at OTMC is that a lot of the "normal" variety is okay. But the last time I went I had the spinach (chicken?) enchildas and they were spot on amazing. Wow.
If you don't mind going down to Ocean Beach, there's also Ortega's on Newport. If:u go there all of the chef's specialties are awesome. Really.
OH, and for fast food Mexican (the best you'll ever have), go up the 5 north to West Mission Bay Drive (it's not far, about five miles), and turn left off the freeway. Go a block and a half and just after Wendy's on the left side is SANTANA'S. Holy crap, try their California burrito or their carne asada burrito, or their grilled fish tacos, or....jeez, anything! Cheap and tasty, better than any Mexican fast food I found in LA (barring Tito's) the ten years I lived there.
dude i can name at least 10 mexican fast food places in the south bay alone that are better than titos

Back when it was Case de Bandini I thought their food was better then Old Town Mexican Cafe. Havent tried it since the changeover. Ive also heard Guadalaras is good so may try either one of thiose.
Im also going to Cabrillo Natl Monument...for those who havent been there its very very cool. Great Views of both the ocean and the city. A great hike down to the tidepools and the lighthouse is an experience.
