About This Page: This is a discussion on Food and Beer Reviews within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I have no idea what to bring. Do any of you have tried-and-true recipes that you'd like to share?
I think I'd like to bring something for an appetizer or
* 1 pound ground beef
* 1/2 cup chopped Onion
* 1/2 green bell peppers, chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 cans black or kidney beans, drained
* 2 cans chili style stewed tomatoes, or 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
* 1 cup beef broth
* 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon each of dried oregano and thyme
* cayenne pepper or hot sauce to taste
* 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
* 2 tablespoons chili powder
Brown ground beef with the chopped onion, garlic and green pepper. Drain and transfer to crockpot liner. Add remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.
Serves 6 to 8.

Here is an even easier one that I make that is all Christmas colors.
Broccoli and Tomato Salad
4 good sized heads of broccoli
1 large red onion
10 - 12 Roma tomato's (or more depending upon taste)
1 bottle Bernstein's Restaurant Italian Dressing (needs to be this one exactly)
-- "Shave" the broccoli crowns (you can use the stalks but most people like the crowns). Shave them length wise from the bottom of the stalks in the upward direction.
-- Chop the onion in large pieces
-- Chop up the tomatoes into chunks
-- Put everything into a gallon baggie. Dump in the full bottle of Bernstein's dressing. Refrigerate overnight, turning the bag over every hour or so, allowing full marination.
-- Empty bag into salad bowl and serve.
This is always a huge hit and extremely easy to make. Good luck.

Here's one of my favorites to bring. People always request that I bring it.
Twice Baked Potato Casserole
5 large baking potatoes
1 Pint of sour cream
½ pound of butter – melted
1 package of mild cheddar cheese (I think I used a 12oz. Bag)
½ cup of chives
Add garlic to taste (I used 3 cloves)
Salt
Pepper
Paprika for garnish
Bake the potatoes and let them cool enough so that you can handle them. Scoop out the insides of the potatoes into a bowl and mash till almost smooth. Stir in the sour cream, butter, cheese, onions, garlic, salt and pepper.
Bake in a 9 X 13 pan at 350 for about 30 minutes or until hot. You can also cook the casserole in the microwave for 8 to 12 minutes. Depends on the microwave

Carne Ranchero that is prepared at the Dayo market on Marine in Lawndale. They have it raw but the marinade is the best I have ever had. Because it is cut thin, all it takes is a couple minutes on the grill and you have some of the most delicious meet I have ever tasted. Use it for tacos, fajitas, enchiladas etc...whatever works the best. Its always a hit at my office potlucks.

1 (20 ounce) bag cheese ravioli, frozen (Or meat filled if you prefer)
1 (10 ounce) jar roasted garlic alfredo sauce
1 (12 ounce) can spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1. Boil the ravioli according to package directions.
2. Drain ravioli and pour back into the pot you cooked them in.
3. Gently stir the alfredo sauce into the ravioli.
4. Pour the ravioli into ungreased 7x11 inch casserole dish.
5. Pour the spaghetti sauce on top of the ravioli and spread around the top with a spoon (do not mix it).
6. Top the casserole with the parmesan cheese and bake in 375 degree (farenheit) oven for 10-15 minutes until hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted.
Reheats well. I get all the stuff at Costco but most stores have it
Biggest hit I ever had at an office potluck was a crockpot full of frozen meatballs cooked in 1/2 enchilada sauce and 1/2 grape jelly...sweet n sour balls.
