About This Page: This is a discussion on Food and Beer Reviews within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. GO NOW!!!!!! New shipments just came in... Bevmo is selling them for 59.99.
Wow... our Costco is $38, and I just checked this at the wine merchant I'm now moonlighting at, and our price is 42 bucks. And with the 10% employee discount it's about the same as Costo. That's a damn good price for the 14 yr.
Oh yeah... I'll throw in a shameless plug for the Aberlour in my sig. It's cask strength (57% alcohol), but extremely smooth nonetheless and not to mention the flavor is deep, rich and amazing. It's around 50 bucks--but you can stretch it out due to it's strength.

Sorry, I just have never found a Scotch whisky I liked. Something about the peaty smoke flavor turns me off. Not knocking your tastes (I love some things that make others puke), but I would rather have a nice Irish whisky (closed malting process...no smoke) like Powers Gold Label (not well known but usually ranked higher than Jameson). BTW, it's usually $15.99 for a fifth at BevMo with your club card.....sweeeeet!!

Hey, to each their own. Actually, Irish whiskey is pretty darn good. I'd always been a Scotch guy, but a buddy of mine bought me a bottle of Tullamore Dew last year and it was some SERIOUSLY smooth and tasty brew. It sure didn't last long. Surprisingly good--especially for that price.

Not all Scotch has a "burnt peaty" taste. Try Macallan 15 year Fine Oak. No peaty.
